11/11/04 12:40 AM11/11/04 12:40 AM #1 I know the Premium rotors have the groove thing, and the rear caliper is supposed to be the same as standard but are the disc rotors actually bigger diameter (or thickness)?

It was devised so that the Falcon ran identical sizes to the Late model camira in Brute utes. Its not commercially listed as available as its specific for a "racecar" and uses a 4 pot AP caliper that's also not actually available (due to Brute contract clauses). But if it does become avail.....and if someone makes a bracket to space the rear caliper up like the Commodore.....then I guess its a slight upgrade for the rear for those that think they might need it.
11/11/04 11:50 AM11/11/04 11:50 AM #6 Premo Front calipers 325 x 32, Rear 303 x 16 Same as standard but slotted PBR Kit identical but slots slightly different and calipers are red.I have the PBR Kit on my T and they have been great so far. 12/11/04 04:58 AM12/11/04 04:58 AM #10 Author Just upgraded my brakes to Ford factory Premium, well the fronts anyway. I will buy slotted rotors or try and track down some eliptical grooved discs for the rear at a later stage. I previously had the DBA slotted standard sized rotors but they started to get the shudder up and I couldn't get anybody to give me accurate info as to if they could be machined or not so I decided to upgrade. Didn't have a need (or have the budget) for V8 Supercar brakes like MS700 and BCL and didn't want to spend more money on another set of slotted rotors to have them shudder again in a couple of months so decided that Premiums were the go. I didn't realise at the time of purchase (eBay special) that I was only actually getting the fronts, though the rears are essentially the same except for the eliptical grooved discs and black painted calipers, so knowing this it's no big deal anyway. I paid about $1300 including fitting, the full deal is nearly $3000 from Ford when you option them on a new car, I hate to imagine what they are worth over the spare parts counter. I could of got the aftermarket PBR setup for around $1900 (plus fitting) but I like the idea of the parts being Ford branded that way the insurance company shouldn't look at it as a modification, rather as an accessory.I haven't been able to give them much of a workout yet as all I've done is driven to work in the rain. The brake pedal does seem a bit lower though than with the standard brakes, I'll have to try and find someone else with Premium brakes and compare.
