  1. Can we get this back on topic guys, I think you are all under-estimating the importance of changing the humble light bulb. Maybe discussion on Scotty's cross dressing would be best suited to another thread. Trent.
  2. It seems like a good idea but the end result is absolute crap. Trent.

    Tonneau Covers

Yep, you're on the right track. The only difference that I have noticed from the AU cover is that the corners are "rigider" (just created a new word!!) on the BA's. One would assume that all the straps would still line up - but then there was probably a highly skilled engineer that found a reason to change it between models. Trent.
  4. My turn..... The laser size is only relative to the track size - any file/audio format on a compact disc uses the same track size. And as mentioned previously a digital versatile disc has a much thinner track size - hence the finer laser, and the dual layer dvd's use a laser on an angle so that the beam penetrates the first layer of the disc to reflect of the second layer. MP3 encoding removes all noise that is inaudible to the human ear, where as a cd records in real time every noise thaat it can get hold on. The actual amount of compression varies depending on the amount of these "inaudible" noises that are present. Apparently (besides using a system as per Brendan's post) the difference between standard CD audio and MP compressed audio is evident to dogs - but I am yet to find one that can confirm or deny this theory! But yeh, where were we again??? Trent.
  5. So I'm not alone in my so called insanity after all! Like everything when the T doesn't function as expected you get a bit emotional - but then you get called into work in the middle of the night because the entire network has crashed and you realise it's not that bad afterall, worse things happen. The hardest part I have found with owning a T is getting out of the drivers seat, like when you duck down to the shop to get the paper but end up coming home 2 hours later and actually forgetting about buying the paper anyway. Go for it and you will not look back. Trent.
  6. If you haven't already done so then do a search buddy, as you will find plenty of these conflicting opinions on this forum as well. Trent.

    Close Call Thread

I almost hit a poor defenceless little cat on the way to work yesterday. If it weren't for the idiot that pulled out in front of me and cut me off then the feline would have been history. If only I had the time I would have turned around and tried a second time! Trent.
  8. Now there's dedication at its finest! Thanks, your a champion. Trent.

  10. My diff likes to whine!
  11. Can you please elaborate Frank - doesn't the fitting support a standard H7 bulb and are replacemets only available from Ford? Or is this just applicable when fitting with true Xenon kits? Trent.
  12. Although of no use to me as I have a ute with the associated "poverty pack" ICC, isn't it great to see a company proactive in assisting their customers. Fantastic PR and it's worked on me, I will having a closer look at TEAC when I'm next in the market for consumer electronics. Trent. (maybe ford can take a leaf out of their book) EDIT: getting my mords wuddled up
  13. Sorry for dragging up an old thread, but did anyone come across an answer for this one? AND Are all of the consumption figures out on chipped cars? ie. is the DTE still functional, is it based on fuel remaining or is it just feeding off the other readings? Trent.

    Price of petrol

What he said So you guys mean the price of petrol has gone above 76c/L... Me to, for the last 7 years... Havent paid for fuel since 1997 l figure l must have used $30k of fuel in that time. How does one get "free fuel" even with a company supplied and maintained vehicle would'nt you be getting a reduced salary package for this benefit? Unless of course the car is used almost solely for work purposes such as a travelling salesman. With a novated lease I get a 47%discount on fuel, due it being paid for pre tax, so $4k of fuel actually has a net cost of just over $2k, but I still pay. I'm curious as to how one achieves totally free fuel? Through lease agreements. Although you would be paying an increased amount to allow for it - if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is! Trent.
  15. And this is for you tab umm, why me?

    Safeway Petrol

They have a bigger tank - but as for actual consumption I would assume so (but the last sedan that I owned was an XF so it's all theoretically speaking) Trent.
  19. I think you're onto something there Glenn - do they stop faster? Trent.

    Safeway Petrol

Woolworths have premium up here so I would assume they would have it on tap at your local as well. As for the origin I've heard aroung eight different theories so far, but optimax still seems better (well to my baby anyway). Trent.
  22. I beg to differ: a) breakfast b) common accepted gramatical style c) reproduction d) evolutionary theory e) fast food f) ross is foul Six topics in as many posts, surely this qualifies as off-topic - even Ken would be proud!!! Trent.
  23. I always thought it was bacon and eggs? Or was it the chicken and then the egg? Maybe they both came at the same time??? From what?

    Headlight upgrade

Zap, Now for serious questions! What lights did you replace - as it looks like they have all of the globes including the parking lights? If not is there a yellow tinge remaining in the light from the OEM parking lights? And as per previous post, where did you buy the little beauties, I was thinking TJM or similar. Thanks, Trent. PS: Ducati; love your work!
