Guys, These are the Ferodo pad numbers I fitted with my DBA T3 rotors. FDSE6004 at the front. FDSE6002 at the back. Yeah the pads are a little dusty but I don't mind. Instead of washing my wheels every 8 weeks, I wash them every 4 weeks. Sourced a good mag wheel cleaning brush from Autobarn - it fits into the small hole on the factory FG XR6T rims!! Thanks again to Brad from Vic Performance Parts for looking after me as a Fordxr6tturbo forum member.

Doob, Half your luck mate. They look great. And if you got them at a good price, even better. If I'd stumbled across a good deal I would have been tempted to do the same even though I'd have to source a set of 19" rims. I decided to stick with the factory XR6T rims so I fitted DBA T3 rotors and Ferodo pads and they make a BIG difference. It's a shame that they still look like taxi brakes.

Guys, Just spotted a story on ABC Just-In. It's entitled: "Cyber Security Researchers Use The Internet to Hack Into Car. Turn Off Engine As It Drives." I'd paste the url if I could but I can't. Google the title and you will pick it up. If cars go online to that extent, I'll look into fitting an aftermarket computer. It's a sad day when people buy their cars based upon the size of the touchscreen on the dashboard and don't give too much of a rats about vehicle dynamics!! PAH

Guys, Yeah it looks like it was a tuning issue with my GTX3576. I'll take the wrap for that as I asked for a focus on part throttle fuel economy - my mistake. It's had a few minor adjustments and I am more than happy now. It feels plenty strong mid range now and still barks up high.

Ralph, What's an ohmho? I'm gonna guess it's a qoofteenth of an ohm?? Something like a Nano-farad - only smaller?? You've no doubt heard of the two Ode sisters? Cath and Ann?? But then again, resistors are not polarity conscious are they?? How very PC. And the wagon (yes I've picked up that there's only one g) my mate bought had only 140k on the clock and seemed like a damn cheap car for a 2010 model. Factory gas too. Cheap to buy. Cheap to run. Not a clapped out taxi but I doubt I'd blow $ on go-faster mods on such a car. Not unless I owned a wrecking yard - and hi to the guys at FTG Auto Salvage. PAH

Found a story on The Motor Report entitled Ford Axes the Falcon Wagon. It runs the older gas fuel technology and the 4 speed auto. PAH PS: Checked out the Woolies Insurance advertised on this web site. Pity they don't insure XR6 turbos!

Guys, Just helped a mate buy a Falcon wagon with a 2010 build VIN plate. The outside of the car looks BF as does the dashboard and ICC. How does Ford ID this car? Is it an FG or a BF? Looks like an orphan sold alongside the Territory. It has factory gas so I expected Eco LPI but it appears to have less than liquid injected gas. Seems to be a throttle body gas set-up. Is it vapour injection? Any known issues with these cars? Rear end bushes comes to mind. Anything else? PAH

Hi Guys, I upgraded my FG turbo to a GTX3576 6 months ago. It's lot a bit of mid range. As a track car, this may not matter but this is a daily driver so I'd like some of the mid range back. Some have suggested swapping the GTX3576 to an 0,8 housing. Would this restore some of the mid range that I enjoyed with the factory turbo? Would a GTX3576 with an 0.8 housing take me back to square 1 - about the same as the factory turbo? Or would it be somewhere in between the factory turbo and a GTX3576? Any thoughts? PAH

Thanks Guys. Anybody able to comment on the life expectancy of the Ferodo DS pads? Mine are biting very wll and it may be too early to crow that mine don't shudder. I might have clocked up only 1500 km. I scraped the hubs free of rust etc so I hope the new rotors mated well to the hubs. PAH

Hi Guys, I fitted a set of DBA T3 rotors all round and Ferodo DS pads. Brad from vicperformanceparts looked after me when I mentioned this forum. The new pads grip much better than the old pads but they make more brake (not break) dust. I'm hoping that the extra dust doesn't mean the pads will have a short life. Anybody out there using these pads and able to comment on life expectancy? The big brakes I see on FPV's look great and I would have liked a set but this Ferodo & DBA T3 option works quite well for my street car application and it means I can keep the factory wheels. $2k for new 19" wheels on top of $4k for brakes and it starts to add up. PAH

Guys. Mal Wood in Warwick Qld adjusted the diff and gearbox in mine a few years back and it's bean much better ever since. I mentioned this to Spiro at Autotech and I think he said that he could have done the work for me in Sydney. In the hotter summer months, I still get a bit of rollover noise in neutral with my foot off the clutch. Push the clutch in and the noise disappears. That noise disappears in the cooler months. Maybe a trans oil cooler would eliminate the noise, but the gearbox shifts more smoothly when its warm. If my memory is correct, Mal Wood recommends Caltex Trans Max Z synthetic fluid for the gear box. He also fitted a remote clutch bleed line for me. PAH

Just a bit surprising that nobody in Melbourne has this mod - as Melbourne's the GATEWAY TO THE SOUTH POLE ;-) Oooh!! Politically incorrect? Look on the bright side. Turbos LOVE the nice cool weather in Melbourne. Tassie must be fantastic. Seat heaters are not high on my list but seat ventilation could come in handy after the beans! ;-)

No glasses needed to find them in the dark. And the FG has poopy little switches and fine print obviously designed by people with 20 year old eyes. Dang again :-( Just had trouble with my Logitech TV remote too. I bought it to replace the Panasonic remote that died. So anyway, the Logitech Remote starts flashing keys: 3 flashes & pause. 3 flashes & pause. So I have to toss out another remote? OI checked on line. It's gone into SAFE MODE!! Why does a remote need a Safe Mode? The fix is to pull out the batteries, hold down Key 2 and pop the batteries back. Problem fixed. Why the hell it went into safe mode I will never know. Hi Guys, Yeah my 2008 FG XR6T now has a blank LCD too. The screen comes on for around 10 secs if I change radio stations or volume but then it goes blank again. I will try the fixes above. If the screen is cactus, what are the options? Is there an aftermarket radio that fits in neatly? What make and model is recommended? Do the steering wheel controls still work with this new radio? Does it enable phone Bluetooth? PAH
