  2. Yeah the plenum is standard, there really isn't too much that has been touched, just the important stuff... I am still thinking about the WSID meet just after new year, see what she runs down the quarter mile, and then there is the dyno comp at Summernats, still thinking about that one...
  3. Thanks guys, the boys at Tunehouse did a great job, I can't give them a good enough wrap. I made the 300 mark easily and it is a very strong engine, I am running a mild street tune at 365rwkw at the moment and I will leave it like that until special occasions call.

  5. Hey Guys, Im in Syd at the moment but my folks are in Canberra, I just wanted to say that I love the Tubbie love that we are all sharing, but should we try and organise a bit of a meet and greet with a comparo... I have a Dark Green(Deja Vu) BF tubbie, about to crank 300+rwkw, usually seen around Q-town... NSW plate BAI-37F, will be down a bit around Chrissie to see the folks.

I know she loves driving it fast, and although she says she is scared she loves the boost... But its still my car, she has to ask to drive it... Jim seems like a great guy and I am sure he will do everything as safely as possible. The car is going in on Monday, so I should have the dyno sheets back by wednesday, I will do what I can to get them up on the site for everyone to have a look at.

Just for a bit of a sell, the guys at Tunehouse are doing all the work for just shy of 11k, so it isn't cheap but for the power that I can potentially get out of it, I think that it is well worth it... However it did take a lot of buttering up the Missus...

The injectors are Nizpro I believe 42lb... But I will have to double check. The cooler is a silver core Nizpro jobbie... The tune is being done at Tunehouse in Marrickville... I will be very interested to see what kind of figures I get out of it at the wheels... I would love to see the magical 300, and of course anything about 350rwkw would be absolute gold... But is there anything else that I need?
  10. Hey Guys, I am just about to have the first mods put on the car... I am have a 4" turbo back exhaust, new bigger intercooler, piping for the cooler, injectors, fuel pump and surge tank, wastegate actuator and turbo housing upgrade, custom tune, dyno tune and a XCal 3 Unit... Is there anything else that I need to have done to make sure the car is going to make the power safely? What kind of power do you think I will make with these mods? Cheers guys
  11. Hey Guys, I have an auto and wanted to know about blocking the BOV, how do I do it? I am pretty dumb when it comes to this kind of stuff, so pics would be good... Cheers
  12. I can understand about the money, however there is a silver lining, you put money into the business and it should pay you back double... My engine is stock at the moment, apart from a centre muffler removal, however I am looking at either a tunehouse upgrade, injectors and cooler and a tune, or an APS Phase I/II. Pending cost of course. Any tips. For the speaker I think that I am just going to replace it with another 8", although depending on the future, I will look at a box and a new amp and take that little bay on the left side of the boot. Any news on a cruise in the neat future? Or a meet, I am just keen to be a part of the community...
  13. Thanks Smicky, You seem to be a bit of a pro when it comes to everything Turbo... I would love to pick your brain and your car to see everything that you have done, so stupid question but is there a cruise or anything coming up soon? I am planning to get rid of the crap subwoofer on the rear shelf and replace it with another 8"er. I would replace it with something bigger but I dont want to loose the space in the boot. The only thing that I wasnt really too sure about was the wiring, but the speakers are working so I can only assume the wiring was correct.
  14. Hi Guys, I installed some new speakers to my car, the ones on the rear parcel shelf decide to give up and I replaced them with a set of Clarion 5 x 7's. It was pretty simple and I will give you a step by step of how I did it. I have premium sound so this should be the same for others. Firstly the tools I used, a simply screwdriver, it doesn't need to be too big. And a ratchet set, for the screws holding the speaker in place, with a 3/16 attacthment. I tried using a small hex key but there wasn't enough depth in the screw. The next step is to get the book carpet out from under the speakers, this gives you access to the speakers from the bottom and to the amp if you need. To do this you need to look on the top of the boot, you should have three white pieces, you should be able to slip your fingers under the carpet and pull down and the holders should just unclip. On the left hand side there are two black plastic pieces, slip them both off, using the screwdriver for ease. Pull the carpet back and reveal the amp. The boot carpet will sit down, just make sure you don't pull it down too far otherwise it will come off. Next fold the rear seats forward, opening the whole section into the boot. On the piece of carpet that covers the rear shelf, facing forward there are two small plastic retainer clips, use the screwdriver to remove them, then about half way back on the rear shelf there are two bigger retainer clips, again use the screwdriver to remove them, you should them be able to lift up the carpet about 6 inches, to give you access to the speakers. Lift up the carpet and push out the speaker covers from underneath. Then using the 3/16 ratchet piece you can take the speakers out, from underneath. Once you have put your new speakers in it should be relatively easy to put all the retainer clips and the carpet back in place. Just make sure you keep track of where everything is, it is pretty easy to lose things. It is up to you whether or not you use the same screws from the original speakers, I did, and they fit perfectly. If the pictures are too dodgy, I am sorry, first timer. Just cut and paste them to paint and resize the image. Hopefully this helps if there are any other questions please let me know.
  15. Thanks for all the help guys, I think that the easiest thing is going to be just replace the old ones... I guess from here it is just taking out the boot lining and replacing the old speakers... Cheers
  16. Do I need any additional wiring for the install of the new 5 x 7's? Can I just use the existing? I am not too savvy on the installation of speakers... I don't want to lose the boot space so installing a new sub and amp in a box isn't really an option...
  17. Are the speakers a direct replacement? Or do they need to be rewired for new speakers? Do I need to buy a new amplifier if I put in new 5 x 7's?

    Dba 4000 Rotors

I just had DBA 4000 series, 42107SL and 42107SR for the front and 42108SL and 42108SR, fitted to the car. These are suited to BF XR6 Turbos, just make sure that the disc size is the same... I go them from Race Brakes Sydney for a great price, the URL is below, Matt the guy there was really helpful. $1150 for four rotors, all slotted and the pads... For the pads I had Ferodo DS performance for the front and Ferodo Ultimate for the rears. The brake performance is hugely different and it really inspires confidence when you have some speed on, knowing that you can pull up the car in a good distance. My link
  19. I had my centre muffler removed, and replaced with pipes... About 4 weeks ago, great sound and possibly minor performance increase, no dyno test though... I recommend it though, I had mine done at Carline in Gladesville, shouldn't void warranty either.
  20. G'day Guys, I haven't been with this site for too long so this is a first timer here really... I have a BF MkI XR6 Turbo with the premium sound, which sadly isn't as good as I had in my old Calais. I am getting annoyed with the lack of punch coming from the speakers as music can make a drive. I was hoping someone could help me with some options, installing new speakers, and the sizes? I am a beginner at pretty much everything but am very willing to learn how to do things, of course am willing to take the car in to have work done. Thanks for all the responses.
  21. So far I have had the centre muffler taken out, new 19" rims, Lenso Tenzo DC5... And I just had new DBA 4000 rotors and new pads put in... So it goes slow, fast...

  22. I guess I have a couple of hundred to start with and then I can go from there, aiming for a few thousand to spend by the end of next year...
  23. Hello, Im new to the site. I am looking for cheap performance upgrades for a BF XR6T. My brother installed a new lower intake box with a secondary intake, below the passenger side headlamp, and K&N Panel Filter for a better sound and marginal performance upgrades. I was looking at something similar to start and of course anything else that anyone can recommend, of course on a budget.
