Hey Guys, This may be a bit of a knuckle head question, but I am just looking at new tyres, 245/35R19, and wanted to know what everyones thoughts were... Michelin Pilot Preceda PP2s $570 per corner Maxxis for $249 Falkens $360 Yokohama S Drive $450 per corner. Goodyear F1 Asym $570 My personal favorites are the Michelins and Goodyear, but don't want to fork out that much, I don't know anything about the Yokohama's but they look pretty good... Can anyone provide me with any experience they have with any of these tyres... Cheers

Hey Gregor Thanks for the idiot proof rundown... I guess that I should just get the balls to do it. I am looking at getting new tyres, so it would be advantageous to practice and get a run done before I get the new wheels. I am looking forward to it though, it should be great fun. I guess once your are going the hardest thing is going to be keeping it straight...

Yeah I need to find somewhere quiet to do some burnouts, but I also need to make sure that I have enough tyre left for it... Do you shift up through the gears, it is the ZF, but I don't know if I put it in semi-auto, can I shift it up myself?

Thanks for the heads up on the Gregor, I will get in there for a race in the near future, when I get the balls to do it (and when I can workout the best way to get a good burnout). I went to WSID for the first time a few weeks ago and thought it was great, however it too was rained out, which is a pain in the arse, but I am really keen to go again...

Saw a nice silver BA F6 Typhoon at Harvey Norman in Fyshwick today, plates were OZF666... Also saw a blue turbo plate XI104, any takers?

It seems to be a case of drving with the smallest number of demerit points for the longest possible time...

Hey Guys, I don't know if anyone knows anything about this but I was looking on the AWC site and they have the carbon fibre bonnet there... I know that it probably doesn't do too much but it looks great, and the holes in the bonnet look great too. Doesn anyone know if these are legal, I know that there maybe some laws but I can't find anything specific anywhere. Thanks

I think that your profile says it all, so what about your Focus, any mods? Is it an XR5? Which track are you at? Enjoy the site, I only really started using it in the last quarter of last year and love it...

I figured you wouldn't, I honestly can't say that I have seen too many BA/F's or FGs with the tow bar, I think that it ruins the back end, although in some applications practical. I am keeping an eye out for yours though,I love the look of those cars

Hey Guys, I don't think that I was robbed in any way but my mods cost around 11500... See the signature block but I managed to get a ton of power. Like said earlier in the thread getting from 300 and then to 350+ is a different job altogether, but you can spend 11k and still make low 300s if you want to. My next mods will be bottom end stuff, as I will soon be looking at chasing 400-450 in the near future...

Thanks for the help guys... I just wasn't too sure on where to go, because there is a massive variation in the prices. I spoke to my tuner today and they basically said unless there is a need to do it, and I thought sitting on the verge of 400 kw atw would be enough of a need, but they said that it didn't need to be done... Any thoughts?

Well I actually went back and had another look, but that is what they have listed on the site for the rods...

Hey guys, I know there have been other topics on Rods but I am a little curious. I have been looking at buying new conrods and I noticed there is a fair amount of variation in the prices of rods. The ones at KPM auto are 4995 however looking at the Spool rods they are only something like 750... Is there a difference, will they do the same job? I don't want to buy crap rods but I don't want to fork out a whole heap of cash it I don't need to Thanks

Do I need a close faced helmet for the drags... I can get an open face helmet, TTH from MCAS for $70, but it's open face...

Anyone know anything about getting some wheels, I guess most people just keep their originals for dragging and the like, but I was dumb and didnt think about that...
