  1. 4L DOHC thrust bearing - has anybody got an engine apart / photo of one? As I'm needing to get a 360 degree thrust bearing made (they went to 180 deg from BA onwards), so images would be sweet to show the machining shop as I'm crap at explaining
  2. I ran in my engine this way: - drain water from sump - remove rust internals - add diesel oil - make limiter go bang bang bang - check compression half a year later - bask in glory of pristine engine that's quiet as
  3. Had standard cats & "standard" tune. So nope
  4. I had zero drama with modification approval for engineering etc. Had a 74 Toyota crown approved for Ls1 conversion. Just needed to be upgraded to disc brakes & collapsible steering column
  5. Should try mine then ... Super snug. But then again, you aren't trying it on. Mines for my head and I don't want the shape internally to change
  6. Pending kyle sorting out injectors within the next month, I'll be buying his blue 42LB FG F6 injectors... So does anybody want some Deka 60LB injectors for cheap ?
  7. Beefed up more than Sam The Butcher Bored & torque plate honed. Line honed. Assembly balanced Etc The crank has been checked & re-polished... Supposedly the original (Isotropic) polishing is sh*t for the bearing surfaces. It was like a mountain range. I could have saved money ($700) originally (by avoiding the isotropic polishing) but now since the crank has been addressed, I have a good crank, so that's what matters.

Love it already. iPhone app made it so easy. The hardest part was trying to unlock hotel model on my tv to lock max volume at 0 My house rattles With low volume and sub on +0

I'll have to look into sonos and pricing before committing to a brand. As for my housing layout amongst the block, I can't really crank a sound system anyways, (more a courtesy thing). I just want one remote to control all volume, with no sound/video sync issues, or echo effect due to people in my house using the wrong remotes lol

Anybody with soundbar hookups still ? I'm currently running, in a small open living area, a Panasonic Viera Smart TV / Sherwood 7.1 CH amplifier / Bose rear wall mounted speakers / Wharfeldale centre speaker / Wharfeldale front wall mounted speakers ... I'm not enjoying it ... Aesthetics and setup reasons. Looking at ditching the amp and speaker setup and going soundbar setup. Is a sub a requirement for a soundbar or can they hold their own without ? Do I just connect the soundbar to tv and off we go? No syncing of audio required ? I'm thinking about going a Panasonic soundbar, as I have a Panasonic tv and DVD player ... I want instant integration.
  14. I have an engine to fit, transmission to fit, new turbo setup to fit, panel work & paint to do, corner weighting to do. Custom fuel cell bracket fab work to do too
  15. Made me laugh and feel better
  16. Wouldn't touch them. Most likely cheap tyres using old 'major tyre brand' tread patterns that are now obsolete. (Eg: ku31 pattern) I've used cheaper tyres at the track before, and called it a night after under 10 laps ... 4 wheel slide under 90kmh, this was with 275s on the back. Utter rubbish. Waste of a night, waste of prep, waste of money. Spend the money on quality brand name performance tyres and you won't waste money.
  17. these 3 things will help the most, power isnt important. vehicle suspension setup - keeping the vehicle balanced through the corners and into braking is where you will save time. brakes - good brake fluid for when you decide you want to brake more aggressively & deeper -- MORE USEFUL MORE MULTIPLE LAPS RATHER THAN 1 HOT LAP tyres - grippier the better -- BUT the more track orientated it is, the less likely it will go "squirmy" on you deep under brakes after 2-3 laps, I've had Toyo T1R's essentially melt on me after 2 hot laps, but funnily enough had a control tyre (Nexen N6000 235/40/R18) last a half decent distance despite being a cheap daily tyre. if you want to play, you have to pay. get a good street tyre, and a set of circuit orientated tyres for the track. by circuit tyres I mean semi slicks, and I dont mean those POS westlake tyres etc you want Bridgestone RE55, Toyo R888, Pirelli P-zero Corsa, etc
  18. BF era radiator, so could be up to 10 years old. I only noticed it after running Toyota coolant (as when I changed it out, it was running demineralised water, so I wouldn't have noticed any leaks due to no crystalline buildup at the point of leak), so I can't say how long it was there for, but probably can be fixed easy, I just wanted an immediate solution - as they say, or something, a fool spends a pound to save a penny. as you can see with the failure, it is right at the point where the core meets the end tank. nah, didn't need any ramps or jacks. did it insitu on the driveway
  19. When changing flexplate, I noticed a leak in the radiator (end tank), Cbf sorting that on the day, so I waited until I got back from work and bought a brand new one (rather than using my good condition non turbo radiator) for $137 (rrp $260) winning. I think all the breakages are done with now
  20. Bought my mum some stockies (she's upgrading to new model & keeping work wheels for that) for her upcoming bday
