These things are so good they'll probably make them illegal soon. Too good to drive. It's like being on your L's again and just wanting to drive. Back then anything would do, now we have these and the fun is back.

Well, this site has been down and a lot has happened. I went and had a look at the car. It was actually a Venom XR8, and the leather was very nice. Yesterday morning we did a deal on some 18's as well and tonight, I have my car! Venom Red XR8, premium sound, Leather, 18's, suff plates, mud spats, floor mats, yaddah, yaddah, yaddah....and hell yeah, she is an awesome car!!!! Took 4 other people out for a cruise tonight, we were lovin' it.....very happy now I am....Merry Christmas to all!!!

I've been in touch with Etheridge and they don't want to do me a deal really at fleet prices, and their car has leather which 'someone has to pay for'. He said he'd get back to me as he knows the price point he needs to work at but he doesn't hold out hope of letting it go at that. Now, there has been an update on my dealer front. They now acknowledge the car is a month away and said there are no cars with my specs in the country, and they may be right. Black manuals may exist but they may have something extra I don't want, like leather, or side airbags, or a sunroof, or all of those things. Anyway, they just rang to say I can have a Vixen XR8, which does happen to have leather, for only $500 more. Damn that's tempting. I can have it this week, for this weekend!!! With leather!! I didn't really want leather as I gig in a band and don't want to ruin it, but for only $500 more I am thinking about it. Going to have a look at the car this avo. What do you guys think? And guess who ordered black and white rego plates last week!!! Yeah, me!!

If you ordered by now surely the price won't rise on you. During the ordering process we were told about the servicing deal after the 3 year warranty ran out. Pay x$$ fixed for a service for the 3 years after warranty, and that that price was locked in at todays rate. People buying cars in 3 years time will get a new figure for their after warranty fixed price servicing. I can't see them making you pay more cause you had to wait to get your car.

Ok, I ordered my XR8 on October 29 or 30, pretty simple, all I wanted from factory was black, manual and premium sound, then tinting, scuff plates etc from dealer. Was given a 6 week turn around at the time, and was happy with that as the turbo was 3 months they said. Right on December 1 it 'appeared' in the dealers computer so it was officially on it's way so to speak. Before this he said it takes about 2 weeks from when it enters the system to being finished so we were looking right on for the delivery time except the computer said dealer delivery would be the 23rd. Fair enough. I'm not the pushiest person and the dealer said he would let me know if anything changed, as we were both hoping the date would change to a little bit earlier to get it all done before Christmas. Thus, when people askes me if there was any more news I would tell them 'nope'. Have you talked to the dealer to get more news? 'nope'. They all can't beleive I've got a $50 000 car on order and am being so casual about. I figure hey, what can the dealer do, if there's no news, there's no news and that's that. Anyway, disgusted with my 'walk all over me' attitude (someone else's words) a friend mentioned a relative that works at Ford so I geve them the Sido number I got from the dealer (who told me it was useless to me but I still got it) and 'apparently' my car is still in paint and expected delivery is January 16th!!! And this person at Ford has no vested interest in keeping me happy so said honestly I shouldn't hold my breath for that date either. This was yesterday and I was very unhappy. So looking forward to getting my car late next week or so, want to show relos at Xmas etc and am sick of driving my XF around. Putting petrol in that car is killing me. Anyway, I rang 13FORD for the first time and gave them the Sido and they too spoke to the factory and Jan 16th is still the time and yes, it's still in paint atm. He asked for my name and dealer etc too. I decided to ring the salesman to see if he gave me the wrong Sido or if the delivery time has changed but he was busy and has still not returned my call. This is the longest he hasn't returned a call before. While cranky last night I also put a call out on drive.com to dealers to see if anybody has a black Xr8 in manaul with premium in stock. I don't think my dealer did that at order time, they certainly didn't mention they looked for one somewhere else in the country. I would have thought it would have been an easy configuration but lots of autos are out there. A lot of the emails didn't work and no luck so far. I know Jan 16 will come around eventually but it's another month from now. If I find a car somewhere else can I cancel my order? I signed something at the time of order but it will be a lease car so I don't think anything has been paid, just that the finance is ok. I want this car so bad I can taste it.

Edit: Thread Merged. Just saw the end of a 10 News report on the new Dick Johnson Falcon. 320kw and built to your specs for about 90K is all I know atm. Looked very nice though!

Holy crap! I started reading this thread yesterday and can't beleive it's December and people are still having problems. I actually have a black XR8 due for pickup in a couple of weeks (or sooner) and allready knew about the brake problem and was going for slotted DBA's all around and after reading I'll be getting Bendix Ultimates too. Yes it's a $50 000 car but the DBA/Ultimate setup not only should rectify the shudder, it also gives kick ass brake performance, for a LOT less than going premium. So I look at it as I ticked 'prestige brakes' but I'm doing it myself after I get the car. I was going to get it done ASAP so as not to use the factory pads so they won't need replacing, but I'll get the Ultimates with it and drive a bit to see the difference. Not long, just a few days. I want to enjoy this car from day one so outlaying just a bit more for better brakes will be worth it I reckon. Will have to do the wax/polish job on the wheels for the dust too.
