  1. Here's a few more cars from the day.
  2. The backlights would be blue but the clock is a standard Ford part and lights up white. Looks very cool though.
  3. Oh, and here's my car on the day!!
  4. Ok, here's a few pics I've managed to get together. The weather was great and the cruise on Saturday was good fun. I'm glad I made the trip. This is a GT-P with all the Herrod's goodies. This is a Canberra GT-P (first one sold here) This is a modified . This is XR8 Chic's XR8 ute with cool flame graphics This is a nicely modified local AU2 XR8 This is a GT in Acid Rush This is a tuff XC
  5. I would probably go the CAPA Supercharge kit if I was to do that....maybe after warranty....only been just over a month. Cold air induction and new filter should be here any day now though!!
  6. No boost gauge needed in my XR8!!!! The clock is just fine! Had I a T, then things would be different. I mentioned the boost gauge to the guy who helped me install it. He has a forum sticker on his car but hasn't been here in a while. Also, I brought along a PC sound card cable and the plug fit in the clock fine, like the documentation states, but what looks like 4 wires to me is actually 3 as it was sheilded. Not sure if all sound card cables are like this but I took the longest one I could find. We ended up splicing another wire into the plug as I wanted to keep the dimming function intact. Otherwise 3 wires is fine. I also didn't realise the instrument facia would come out by itself when I was pulling on it all. Didn't mention this in the doco!!!
  7. Wow, I got a clock last week and just had it properly wired in last night. It looked cool just sitting there dead, but is even better now it works, especially at night when it's lit up. The clock only comes with cars fitted with the Climate control version of the premium ICC, you don't get one in the GT, but you do in the GT-P.
  8. I made the ketchup and onions jokes with a friend yesterday who was telling me about them. Car's still at the shop so no feedback yet. As a bonus, looks like I'm getting my analouge clock installed later tonight at a mate's house, who can solder good. Will let you know how it goes.
  9. Yeah, watch it when Ford do your tyres. I re-checked mine after my first service and pressures were down all round, had to put them all back up.
  10. Ahhh, that is horrible!!! I'm worried about that very thing, but what can you do? Gotta drive these things, that's what they are for, and they aren't too bad at it. Pls have some respect peoples.
  11. Ok, I have been told a hot dog is like a resonator. The reason I was wondering is that I removed the rear muffler of my XR8 for a better not (which it got) and removing some back pressure can't hurt, can it? Well, I think it did and I discussed it with someone on the weekend who put his car on the dyno and knew he had lost power and fixed it with two hot dogs. It is getting done tomorrow. The other guys exhaust still sounded pretty cool and the original performance is back. What is it with these cars and their love of back pressure? Welcome to the future.
  12. Yeah, that's about right. When I first got it I knew that it had XR lit up at night and when I saw the big XR lettering I thought 'how cool is that, huge lit up XR letters'...then of course the smaller ones I hadn't noticed lit up. Still very cool though.
  13. I know some of you Turbo guys remove your centre muffler and install a couple of hot dogs. What is the purpose of the hot dog? What are they and what do they do?

    I Got It

Congrats Doc, enjoy that beastly V8!! Post pics when you can slow down.
  15. It's also gone up from $255 to $315. I still don't know why car makers don't offer metallic white. I have a guitar in a Metallic Snow White Pearl, looks great. I'm sure the same could be done for red. :banghead:
  16. It would be leased thru work. I almost bought a 15k XR8 off a guy who was getting a new car (had to get a new car) but even at the cheaper price I leased a new one cheaper, with better options, as there was no GST discount buying private. I'll have my car for 5 years, which is cool as I'll really get to enjoy it as the engine keeps loosening up. 15k or 20k is too soon to give it back and start again I reckon. Still, you can't argue with the bean counters who tell you to trade it.

    Who Races?

Have never raced, and not really intereseted in the 1/4 but going fast around a track would be cool one day.
  18. The Albury All Ford Day is on this Sunday the 25th. Is anybody from here coming along? I'll be there (makes ALL the difference I know) All Fords are welcome and you can enter your car for judging on the day for $15 or you can just enter it to show for a gold coin donation. There is also a cruise and a feed happening on the Saturday arvo/evening for people who will be there before the event. Vic
  19. Red with black White wtih blue Orange with black

    Tight Fit

My grandfather used to park 3 cars in his old garage when we were growing up and there were padded bits on the poles and the sides of the wall where the doors would open. My wifes Grandfather did a great one. He had a ZJ fairlane and rigged a device that he would push in with his bumper bar and a little spring loaded stop sign would pop up straight, telling him to stop. The wife just hung a plastic bottle top from some string to know when to stop her Torana in the garage. Easier to thread than a tennis ball I guess.
  22. They better haul that no brains monkey back into the system quick smart. What an unbelievable end to what should have been a great day for David on Sunday. That thug had 'better' get what's coming to him. I heard last night there was a case here locally where a bouncer threw a guy down some stairs head first. Opened up the guys head and did lots of serious damage. Stupid judge let him off cause he felt sorry for him as he hadn't been properly trained as a bouncer. WTF? How much training do you need to know you don't throw someone head first down some stairs? Enjoy life for sure. You never know when it will end. This is why I got the XR8 and I have about 16 guitars. Live life to the full!
  23. I also found the paint looks like ass around the fuel cover. Primer red all around it which is easily seen.
  24. I found the post. How did it end up looking? Got any pics? Funny thing is I was going to talk to the guys at my first service this Friday about getting the bumper resprayed as there is some paint coming off at the bottom of the passenger headlight, and they scratched the underside of it up pretty bad (you can't see it though) when they put it on the truck to take it to get tinted. The car was lowered by then and they didn't tell me about the scratches but instead of picking it back up at the dealership in Woden, it was at the dealer in Belconnen, near the tint place. They said would I like to pick it up there as the truck guy didn't want to put it back on his truck and otherwise someone would drive it to Woden from Belconnen. So I dropped off the courtesy car to Belconnen and had a look at the front, looks ok but the bottom of the spoiler was all scratched up. Interesting times.
  25. Tell me about it, went for a drive down to Mount Kosciuszko afterwards to cool off. Gonna treat her to a wash now to get the bugs and stuff off.
