  1. I think your also forgetting something, the XR5T's only standard They do really love the corners, shame you guys are a bit slow ;P Was really a great day, I was itching for the cruise for a long time, but everytime there was one on, I had other plans. At least I made it to this one after 4 hours of sleep. See what you can do if you really want it.
  2. Yeap, it was a fantastic cruize, one of the best ones I've been on. With regards to my XR5T in focus, your forgetting something.... I was still on front of you.... Do you thing I could have a copy of my blue XR5 with the B&W background ? I think it's an awsome photo with the contrasts. Can't wait to hear what the supercharger makes ones tuned on Tuesday, and just loved the sound even at walking pace. Hope to see you all next time. Daniel
  3. I've got sister inlaw's 40th on the Sat, so it now depends on if I can get up in time for the cruise on Sunday.
  4. Put me down as a Maybe. Hope you don't mind an XR5 on the cruise. Anyone doing a meetup in SE suburbs for drive up to Westgate meetup point ?
  5. There's nothing wrong with the XR5T, it's a good all round package. It might not have the power of the bigger brother, but it does love going through the twisties. Had an XR6T with 285rwkw, there's a bit of savings with fuel by going to the XR5T but it's not worth changing over if that's the only reason for the swap. Either way, both cars are great.
  6. Ahhh bugger, gotta work this weekend, so it's a no go for me Hopefully the next cruize won't be too far away.
  7. Anyone heading out from around the Vermont area ?
  8. Hi ya, Try the other brother forum www.fordxr5turbo.com heaps of stuff there in relation to mods. A lot more specific stuff for XR5's
  9. Anyone mind if a XR5T tags along ? Is there a planned route for the trip so that others could meet up at other points ? Also, anyone interested in a meet up point some where around the Vermont area and headup to the main meeting point ? Daniel.

Thanks to all who are wishing us a speedy recovery. we are both doing ok, getting better each day. brendas got a walking stick to help her get around, and now she is just able to put on her own socks which is a great effort considering that she couldnt the last few days. With regards to the T, still waiting for the assessor to inform me if its a write-off. The only problem that ive got is that the insurance is market value of around 27k and my payout is over 30k. So it doesnt look as if im getting another T, too far out of pocket. Ive already been looking around on the net, looking for a mid size car with good fuel ecconomy so the choice is VW Jetta or Golf with DSG transmission ( clutchless manual ) drives like auto in Diesel form. It's a 2 ltr 103kw with 320Nm. There is an edit that I can get for it which will bring it upto around 145kw. In standard form, I should get over 900klm out of a 55ltr tank, with the edit it increases fuel ecconomy by another 100klm per tank !!!! Ill get it fitted with sports suspension and 18x7.5 wheels so that it will sit similar to the GTi. For you info the GTi makes 147kw and is a good $10,000 to $12,000 dearer in price. Daniel
  11. Hey, who the f12ck do you think you are !!!!!!!!!!!! Ok maybe it wasn't the CC and maybe the increase of a couple of kayes was enough for the rear wheels to spin who the f12k knows !!!! but I definately remember just touching ther accelerator and releasing it even before I started to cross to the right. The outcome of this accident is the best given the circumstances, were still alive ! Sure I can understand people disagreeing with what I have said, but you can be a bit more sympathetic than farken shooting me down. I feel farken bad enough that I was involved in the accident, but more so that Brenda was injured in the process. Im sure if anyone farked up because they did something stupid on the roads I wouldnt be putting egg all other their face as they themselves wouild know what they had done wrong.

thanks all for your kind words, yes we are ever so lucky with the minimal injuries considering the extent of the accident. once again I dont know if it had anything to do about the sh*tty white painted lines or the wet slippery crap that ends up on the roads. either way its no good. as for someone looking after us, brenda had a dream on the sat night in which her father had come to her and let her know that he knew she was going to be ok. He had passed away some 30 odd years ago. now only to wait and see what the assessors say about my car. better be a writeoff as I cant see it being repaired properly. also, hope the insurance can cover it completely, not sure of what its insured for as the novation lease co did all the paper work.
  13. Ok, ok ok so just shoot me down. I'm just trying to help others not to be in the same situation that we were in. Even if you accelerate slightly it does override CC, but it is always on, so when you take your foot aff the accelerator CCs back on. At the first sign of something happening, I removed my foot off the accelerator, but the engine reved higher, so that means that cc took over. I dont give a what people think of me, all I want for people to be careful, but if you want to be a d!ckhead go ahead.
  14. I have created this new topic to inform all of the dangers of using CC in wet or slippery conditions. The claims dept have informed me about this issue. If you leave CC on in slippery conditions you are more likely to have an accident if you aquaplane as the rear wheels will loose tracksion, the CC will kick in reving the engine to maitain what the CC was set to. As in my case, around 105klm. So the rest is history, refer to details of my car accident Daniel

Ok, 1stly its no fault of the modified T as I was cruising at 105klm which is a nice leasurly stroll. TC was on, roads were wet. I have just got off the phone to the claims dept, upon telling them what had happened, he mentioned the cruise control issue. Which now makes sense. roads wet, tc on, cc on, change lanes hitting a wet patch or oily, cc senses that the wheels aren't moving fast enough and so the engine revs up to maintain the 105klm speed that I had set it on. So the rest is history. I'll post another topic making people aware of cruise control in wet weather. daniel.

Although the car was my pride and joy, I don't care about it at least we've still got our lives and injuries that can mend. It's a bloody scarry thing running off the road at about 110klm, not knowing what your going to colect along the way. I vaguely remember hitting a couple of schrubs and at least 1 tree and thinking ok shyte I think the car has some damage, then spinning 180degs rear ending into a tree and thinking now its f!@ked and wondering when this roller coster is going to end. First think I said and thought then the car stopped was looking up onto the ceiling thinking f!@k. Someone opened both the front doors and were asking if we were ok, I coulding speak as I couldnt believe what had happened. Then I kept wasying f!@k over and over again and appologising to brenda as I knew she was hurting. The only thing I can think of is that even though the road was flat, there must have been a slight incline and so the car may have been ubnder min load. So when going across, I must have hit a oily patch where the car let go. its taking me a long time to type this out because im typing single handed. All I can say to you all is be vary carefull on wet and slippery roads. its a real bummer. Daniel

Hi all, lucky Brenda and myself are still here.... The accident happewned on the princess hwy just outside of Moe. I was travelling in the left hand lane with cruise control on at about 105 klm in a 110 klm zone. I was comming up to a car which was slower than myself, so I indicated right and checked my mirrors. there was a car in the right hand lane but was a good 10-15 meters back, so I accelerated ever so slightly and proceeded to change lanes. I was anly half way through the lane change when the rear of my car let go and spun out, left the hwy onto the median strip spun around a couple of times hitting some trees/schrubs on the way through, ended up slidding backwards into a tree which slammed our bodies into our seats, pushing our seats into nearly a lying position, rebounding off that tree sideawys slamming my sholder into the side pillar, and brenda into the centre console, spinning 180 degs again and into a ditch about 2.5 feet deep and got stuck there. The police office mentioned that we were lucky to have hit the tree that we did as the tree that we missed by inches was as wide as the car itself. Also luckly we slid back into the tree and not in the side or fronton otherwise there would have possibly been a fatality and serours injuries. As it was, I ended up with my righ ac joint ligaments torn which has dropped my sholder somewhat, looks like about 6weeks for arm in sling. Brenda was worse off that myself with bruising on her right side of her rib cage, soreness across her hips, and swollen left upper thigh, quads and buttock which must be a deep seated bruising as the bruising is not showing up externally. Its a major exercise for her to walk, just like a 98 year old. In comparison, it looks like nothing has happened to us considering the impact. And before anyone asks, I've only managed to save the edit box. Looks like goodbye to springs, injectors, hi-flow cat & bmc filter. Daniel & Brenda
  19. I've got a Blue print and I did have slight swirl marks on it until last weekend. Firstly wash the car with Soft Wash gel with a cotton mit. I didn't bother about drying the car off as the next step requires the paintwork to be wet. Used Spray mist detailer on a section of the car, about 12 inches by 24 and rubbed lightly with CLAY BAR to remove oxidisation and swirl marks. You MUST make sure that the paintwork is always wet with the clay bar use, otherwise it drags across your paintwork. You will note that the paint work will get smooth and then you just simply wipe down the area and then continue onto the next. To see how your work is coming along, rub your fingers across the area to be treated, then use the clay bar and feel the results. This processes removes oxidisation, tar spots, bird stains, and hard to remove bugs. Once your finished the entire car, its time to wax using a good high quality wax. I've now have a finish that I'm happy with. By the way I used the Eagle-One Clay Bar, you get 2 pieces for around the $31, the 3M Clay Bar is more expensive at around the $50 mark. I've used both and I think that they are just a good as each other. A number of years ago I did the same process on a crapadore which had the entire paintwork badly marked due to living on a dirt road, brought it up really nicely just before trading it in. Daniel
  20. Hey, I'm sure that if you give her the best sex that she's ever had in her entire life might be the way to go. After all, she can't say too much when she's that exhausted and tired, with a promise of more the come
  21. I couldn't make it I was going to try for the 2nd leg but didn't have time to make it You guys had a beautiful day to show off your T's ( oh, and a Na ). It's alway great going in a convoy, looks fantastic. I'll try and nake it to the next one and get involved. In a few weeks, Brenda and myself are going to do weekend trips just to build kays up on my T ( due to novation lease ). Maybe I could get someone to post up and see if a cruise could be organised ? Who should I contact ? These would be overnight stays. Was thinking Robe in SA, via Colac and back by the Great Ocean road. Other places that we want to go to - Warnambool, Walhalla. Anyways, glad you all had a great time, and by the sounds of things, some more than others Daniel

Why not try driving both, firstly try the SS then immediately after, try the XR6T. I then bet you go for the XR6T. ( wager anyone ? ) Which ever one you choose, just make sure its the right one for you otherwise it will cost you to change. I can hear it now.... What was that ? ( as the XR6T passes )....wish I bought the turbo

Soooo..... us edited guys are driving around in Abuse Mode But it just depends on what level you want to abuse it, going beyond the capabilities and you will start having issues. You play, you pay.
  24. Yeap, Ford charged me I think $65, but it didn't do much other than lower the handle a bit.
