Hey Worm, what a few misplaced 3s & 5s, still an awesome car all said and done. A sound system enhancement, a flash tune, an intercooler, and some better suspension will put it up there, and lining the roof boot doors and bonnet with Dyna Mat will give it the solid quiet feel of a Euro. Main thing is the price 100k on an enhanced 335GT is better value for money in Aus and knowing what any exotic Euro can be bought for in the US I couldn't do it to myself. Plus that note from the supercharger is something else. A GT will do.
-
A little birdy told me that the series 2 FG FPVs won't have "The suspension from across the road" either. After driving one for a week that is the only thing that lets the GT 355 down in my opinion but it's nothing that replacing all the bushes and a good set of springs and Bilsteins won't fix. Don't forget you can also flash tune and intercool the GT 355 as well and then you would have one hell of a car. The temptation to buy a 355 and put the R Spec on blocks is very strong, but I'm making myself wait for the series 2 GT.

Thanks XtRmn8. Looks like I may as well just keep the factory AMP and replace the speaker. I guess the 2ch amp bridging means the factory sub has one wire going to it and the new Kenwood has a pos and a neg. How do bridge the amp to be single channel, is there a part you buy or do you just not hook up the positive or the negative into the speaker. I am an electronics noob but it is easily accessable and will save me having to wait a week and get 1000 differing opinions from to tecsperts if I just put it in myself, your advice is much appreciated
-
I meant can anyone recommend a decent amp to replace the factory sub amp?
-
I have all my sound up graded to something worth listening to except the sub. I have bought a Kenwood KFC-XW800F top replace the factory junk and now my dilemma is that I have been told that the amp that runs the sub is complete cheap junk. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced decent sub to power the new Kenwood sub that is basically a bolt in affair? Thanks in advance

C'Mon Dillz, they are a bit better than that but for the money it is disapointing that the handling isn't sharper and better. However a good driver would have few issues if a poofteenth of second didn't make too much difference. I'm not too up myself to admit that although I like fast cars it doesn't mean I'm a good driver. At the end of the day the GT 355 is still a reworked Ford Falcon and for the money they want they (FPV) could have made them a bit more refined. Still a bloody great car though.

Mate Clarkson has NO RESPECT for cars. Pics are up in the GT section, all in all a great car, awesome acceleration and note to match
-
Well I have had the GT 355 POO5 that was garciously lent to me by FPV for 8 days. I've had the car for 5 days and have been using it mainly for around Melbourne traffic driving, stop start annoyance, and finally got to take it out on the open road today. I have to say that for point to point high speed and around town suppleness my modified BF R Spec would eat it, but it is immediately obvious that that is not what the 335 is designed for once the road opens up and you can actually drive the car, my impressions are as follows. 1. The exhaust note is awesome and is much enhanced by the whirr of the super charger. 2. The acceleration is incredible and linear especially in sport mode. 3. The finish inside is much better than the BF and the seats are more comfortable 4. 6/4 spot Brembos are excellent 5. Everybody gawks and an HSV driver gave me the fingers 6. I would give the car 6/10 around town and 9/10 on the open raod as it really does need some decent shocks and springs. 7. Bearing in mind that this car has been a press car since day 1 and that Jeremy Clarkson has burned a set of tyres off it, it is obvious that they are up to a good hammering, with 9000klm on it this particular car has no diff noise, and no thumps, bangs or clunks, so the build quality is there. I can only imagine what one would be like with top quality suspension, an intercooler, and a flash tune. Would I buy one? Yes definately, althouigh not in purple they are a fantastic machine and would be an incredible car for loing distance open road driving which is exactly what they were designed to do. I will now attempt to load up some photos.
-
Yes Mate, the Viper they were on about was the colour, (Purple) Clarkson thrashed the crap out of it and ruined the tyres so its got 4 new feet. I picked it up yesterday and have only driven it in the Melb traffic. First impressions great interior and user friendly (Here comes a flame) personally I prefer my R Spec , it (the R Spec) feels a hell of a lot more nimble in traffic and would rip the GT in a straight line without even realising it was in a race. that's not to say that a worked GT with some decent suspension wouldn't be a better car than the R Spec. I will have a better impression once I get it out on the highway
-
Just arrived in Sydney from LA and have to now spend 10 days in Melb. I checked my emails and got this from a good friend who is the MD of a large corporation and to whom I had been bleating that the build quality of my R Spec was rather ordinary, nearly fell off the seat in the QANTAS Club when I read this. Guess I will have to stick with now. I will report more next week. Rick, I hope you are well. A few little surprises for your when you get here; 1) I told the execs at Ford about how you are a mad Ford fan but your last car has not been fantastic and you are thinking of turning to the dark side of a European model or worse, a Holden. To lure you back they have agreed to lend you a car next week to tempt you back. The MD of FPV himself has made available a Viper GT auto for you. This is powered by the new boss 335, 5 litre engine with Bembo brake package and is very likely the most powerful motor vehicle on Aussie roads today. FPV will ensure the vehicle is fully fuelled and washed prior to collection. They will need some paperwork completed before this vehicle can go out on loan so could I pick you up from your hotel around 11:30 on Monday and take you out to FPV? You have the car until Sunday evening or Monday AM. We need to figure out when you’re flying back so we can set it up. Also we can lend you a kids seat if you need it.

Do you want the 5 minute argument or the full hour argument

Nothing wrong with a healthy debate and if it gets too aggressive a red padlock will appear. People need to wake up to whats going on. Every time any politician opens their mouth these day LIES pour forth. It's time to stop the She'll Be Right Mate attitude because things are not right so IMHO these things should fully open to discussion and various opinions

Its not the Arab world, its North Africa. Libya is (was) the richest on that continent and has a lot of oil so go figure. It doesn't take a lot of brain cells. Another country that was America's friend being ripped apart just like Iraq was. You haved to ask who arms these countries to the teeth and then turns on them. “It is a test that the international community has to pass. Failure would shake further the faith of the people’s region in the emerging international order and the primacy of international law.” –Brookings Institute’s “Libya’s Test of the New International Order,” February 2011. The media expects you to believe placard waving peaceful demonstrators have somehow, in just days, transitioned into tank driving, jet flying rebel forces – just like in Hollywood. Photo: BRQ Network. While a parade of politicians and pundits cite the “international community,” the UN, and the “Arab street” as giving them the justification to not only wage illegal war on Libya, but to threaten illegal war against Syria as well, it should be remembered that it was neither the UN nor the “international community” that laid the ground work for this campaign. What started out, supposedly, as spontaneous, simultaneous uprisings across the Middle East, has transformed clearly into an aggressive Western-backed blitzkrieg of destabilization and regime change. This was a plan that was years in the making, talked about in 2007 by then, presidential hopeful, CFR member, and International Crisis Group trustee Wesley Clark. As hard as our “leadership” tries to act surprised, the current Middle Eastern conflagration has been years in the making. We now know that the protesters from Tunisia to Egypt had been trained by US created and funded CANVAS of Serbia. We have learned that the US State Department openly admits to providing funding to tech firms to assist protesters across the Middle East and Northern Africa to circumvent cyber-security inside target nations. Perhaps most alarming of all, we now know that the US State Department is also funding corporations like BBC to undermine the governments of China and Iran, revealing the full-scope of their ambitions. The “international community” that feckless stooges like Joe Lieberman talk about, or his French equal in impotency, Nicolas Sarkozy’s “new post-UNSC 1973 model of world governance” are concepts not born of these “elected representatives,” but rather the product of the corporate think-tanks that hand them their talking points. It is the corporate-financier oligarchy that constitutes the “international community” and who aspires to rule through “world governance.” Their goal is to eliminate national sovereignty and assert their agenda and the laws & regulations to achieve it homogeneously across all national borders. To see who Lieberman and Sarkozy are channeling, we look to the Brookings Institute report “Libya’s Test of the New International Order” back in February 2011. In it, it talks about the primacy of international law over national sovereignty and considered it being at stake in Libya. Allowing Libya to defy the “international community,” they worried, could ultimately threaten its “resolve and credibility.” Another telling Brookings Institute report, “Bifurcating the Middle East,” mentions rallying “the Arab street” to confront defiant states like Libya, Syria, and Iran, all of which are mentioned by name. Nowhere was oil mentioned, nor the tremendous profits defense contractors would surely reap, and while these are primary motivators to garner support for the regional campaign within the corporate combine, they are by no means the primary motivators for the campaign itself. The final goal is world government, the elimination of borders, and a monopolistic corporate-financier cartel that can systematically eliminate all challenges to its hegemony – in other words, the dream of all oligarchs since the beginning of time. In Syria, resistance to the Western-backed opposition is a similar direct challenge to the corporate-financier oligarchs. Nations like Syria, Iran, Libya, Burma, Belarus, and many others are demonized and systematically isolated and undermined not because they are a threat to the world, but because their independence and refusal to acquiesce is an obstacle before a corporate-financier ruled world government. We are given childish explanations that prey on the most ignorant and feeble of minds as to why we are fighting in Libya, and why we are threatening war with Syria and Iran. Nowhere in Lieberman or Sarkozy’s ranting statements is talk of who these rebels are; that they’ve been fighting on and off against Qaddafi for nearly three decades with US help, that their opposition is based in London and the United States, and that they have overt ties to Al-Qaeda, with rebel leaders themselves openly admitting their affiliations to the terrorist group. We are now told that recently returning to Libya to lead the rebels is Khalifa Hifter, who has spent the last 20 years in “suburban Virginia,” and has spent his time in America lending support to anti-Qaddafi groups. After fighting a decade in Afghanistan and Iraq at the cost of nearly 6,000 US lives, supposedly to stop the ubiquitous “Al Qaeda,” an organization the US itself created in the mountains of Afghanistan in the 1980′s to fight the Soviets, we have come full circle, with CIA/Al-Qaeda assets fighting side-by-side in Libya, complete with US air support. Do regular folks forget that Syria was mentioned as part of George Bush’s “Axis of Evil” and that Obama is merely carrying on a continuous agenda that has transcended administrations up to this very day? Considering the agenda revealed by Wesley Clark in 2007, we see how seamlessly “Obama’s war” against Libya fits in. If we are to believe Obama and Bush are ideological opposites, what other explanation can be given as to why this agenda, scorned by the political left under Bush, has now found a new home in Obama’s administration? Quite clearly politics in America is but a mere illusion. So to is the “War on Terror,” as the US helps Al-Qaeda sweep westward towards Tripoli. It is all empty rhetoric carrying the agenda of global government forward. Despite losing nearly 6,000 of their brothers in arms, the US military carries on, following orders despite the absolute, overt absurdity of their mission. They are literally providing air support now for the men that helped send their buddies back in pine boxes from Iraq. They do this while the media that lied them into a decade of war now celebrates their enemy, these rebels of Benghazi, as heroes of democracy. Again – we come full circle as the Mujaheddin fighting the Soviets were once “heroes” of the West as well. None of this makes any sense from the political left or right perspective. None of this makes sense from a West verses “Muslim extremist” perspective. The only perspective from which it makes sense, is if a cartel of corporations has been lying to us all along, saying anything and everything to get us to jump through the appropriate hoops. With their plans becoming bolder, perhaps even desperate, they have begun to mix up their narratives to the extent that they are bombing “Al Qaeda” in Pakistan and giving “Al Qeada” air support in Libya. They are admittedly strafing civilians from the air in Pakistan, but imposing no fly zones on Qaddafi over unverified claims of doing the same. As the globalists admittedly strafe civilians in Afghanistan and Pakistan, they have lobbied for war with Libya over verified lies of doing the same. Indeed, this is not a war of America, the UN, NATO, or the European Union. The feckless politicians that pose as our leadership are merely taking orders from the powers that be – the corporate-financier oligarchs. If we are to frustrate these oligarchs, we would be wise to waste little time on their front men and instead get straight to the issue. Boycott these corporations and systematically replace them on a local level. While they wage war to eliminate the nation state, from its borders down to our own individual rights and liberties, we must wage a campaign to undermine and eliminate them, from their crass consumerist networks that infest our towns, to the parasitic monstrosity that is the international banking system which infests this planet.

Cheers Senna. Just went to take the front wheel off and it is impossible with a wheelbrace, they must have put super glue on the wheelnuts I'll send it to ford when I get home from the US
-
Thanks mate appreciated
-
Thanks Straughsberry. I have a horrid feeling that a tyre changing spanner monkey was put on the job, after I got it home from having the goop put behind the pads all the wheel nuts were tight except the lock nuts which had been hand tightened only so I lost faith them, another $500 down the drain. Everyone is entitled to one mistake but these guys are much more interested in grabbing your money than fixing things. Not sure if I can say it but I will anyway, this is what happened from my experience at ABS in Osborne Park. Struasberry do you know if these things (front hubs) make whirring and clicking noises when they are knackered. I thought rumbling was the common noise. Back to Ford
-
Cheers Worm, they had it back and put CRC rattle stop goop on the pads and it did nothing. I noticed tonight RH down it has also decided to incorporate a click with the harmonic rattle when its turned slightly RH down. I had the sound bouncing off a tunnel wall tonight and its pretty loud, definately something that was not there before the spanner monkeys changed the pads Discs and wheel bearings . Going to the US tomorrow for a month so I'll sort it when I get home, just chose the wrong workshop so back to being reamed by Ford I guess, at least my local dealer can actually fix things
-
I had the F & R pads, Fornt discs and front hubs changed a few weeks ago, since then I have had what is best described as a whirring or clacking dull metallic rattle sound coming from the front LH wheel. It is consistant with speed as the car accelerates and is there whether braking or not but goes away when the wheel is turned left to right with even slight pressure. Just wondering if I got a crook or incorrectly fitted front hub. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its driving me nuts . When I took it back, all the mech did was put some rattle stop on it and proclaim it cured so it won't be going back to them again.

Considering the report below, maybe all the 2012 pole shift loonies are on to something. See one of the Nuclear reactors, or power stations has exploded. Worlds going beserko at the moment. Then again I bet they thought the same during WW2. It is very strange that a week before the NZ quake significant solar activity on the Sun began and 2 days before this earthquake the biggest solar flares ever recorded, 2 of them, blasted straight towards earth and the radiation and xrays arrived at our atmosphere yesterday. NASA is saying the solar flares and storms are going to intensify. (CNN) -- The powerful earthquake that unleashed a devastating tsunami Friday appears to have moved the main island of Japan by 8 feet (2.4 meters) and shifted the Earth on its axis."At this point, we know that one GPS station moved (8 feet), and we have seen a map from GSI (Geospatial Information Authority) in Japan showing the pattern of shift over a large area is consistent with about that much shift of the land mass," said Kenneth Hudnut, a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Reports from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology in Italy estimated the 8.9-magnitude quake shifted the planet on its axis by nearly 4 inches (10 centimeters). The temblor, which struck Friday afternoon near the east coast of Japan, killed hundreds of people, caused the formation of 30-foot walls of water that swept across rice fields, engulfed entire towns, dragged houses onto highways, and tossed cars and boats like toys. Some waves reached six miles (10 kilometers) inland in Miyagi Prefecture on Japan's east coast. U.S. Geological Survey The quake was the most powerful to hit the island nation in recorded history and the tsunami it unleashed traveled across the Pacific Ocean, triggering tsunami warnings and alerts for 50 countries and territories as far away as the western coasts of Canada, the U.S. and Chile. The quake triggered more than 160 aftershocks in the first 24 hours -- 141 measuring 5.0-magnitude or more.

Maybe so Dule. But at least he's an honest scientist. It was Monckton who alerted the US public to this folly and shut down Obamas hope of a tax grab, and basically averted these ba$tards from getting any Copenhagen agreement settled. Without him we would already be bent over and getting ripped. I just hope he blows his trumpet louder than ever, maybe the tinfoil hat will throw the sound further

Appearing on The Alex Jones Show yesterday, Lord Christopher Monckton went further than ever before in his vehement opposition to the elitists running the climate change scam, calling for the UN to be shut down and for fraudulent peddlers of global warming propaganda like Al Gore to be arrested and criminally prosecuted. Monckton said that those who are threatening to shut down economies, bankrupt nations, and deepen the problems of the third world by implementing draconian policies in the name of global warming should be indicted, prosecuted and imprisoned for a very long time. The fraudsters and racketeers from Al Gore to the people at the University of East Anglia who have been making their fortune at the expense of taxpayers and the little guy, should be criminally charged, said Monckton, in response to the climategate scandal. We the people have got to rise up worldwide, found a party in every country which stands for freedom and make sure we fight this bureaucratic communistic world government monster to a standstill they shall not pass, he added. Monckton said that the United Nations should be closed down, adding that he talked to a senior UN ambassador in Canada who told him that he no longer saw any purpose in the UN and it exists only to enrich itself at the expense of the nations it claims to serve, its time it was brought to an end. We would all save billions if we shut down the UN and just about all of its hideous bureaucracy, said Monckton. Lord Monckton emphasized how the emails released as a result of climategate prove that global warming alarmism was still prevalent in public but behind closed doors, warmist scientist are admitting that the deniers as they label people like Monckton are correct. Publicly theyre saying the science is settled, were all doomed unless you close down the economies of the west, whereas privately theyre saying to each other weve got it wrong, none of this adds up and its a travesty that we cant explain it. [efoods] Monckton also slammed Obamas science czar John P. Holdren, who in his 1977 book Ecoscience called for draconian population measures to be enforced by a planetary regime in the name of saving the earth, as an openly admitted communist. Monckton pointed out how Holdren had been once of the most prominent alarmists in the 70s warning about the onset of rapid global cooling. Now with seamless mendacity he says that what were now facing is global warming, said Monckton. How can anyone like Holdren stand up with a straight face and expect anyone to believe it, he added. Monckton said that the agenda behind the global warming movement was to set up a communistic world government which will be run by people who do not care how many people they kill with their policies and that their goal is to do away with democracy forever by stealth using the excuse to save the planet. Monckton said that the people running the scam had a deliberate desire to control population by killing people in large numbers deliberately if necessary. The former advisor to Margaret Thatcher said that the warmists were sounding more and more desperate and knew that they had been rumbled as a result of climategate, which would only make it more urgent for them to try and force through a binding treaty in Copenhagen. Monckton said that the answer to combating the move towards neo-feudalism and global government was to form a worldwide freedom party that would operate nationally in every country in order to defend freedom, democracy and prosperity while routing out every aspect of the communistic takeover. Every time these people try to take it away, we in the freedom party will stop them, and I think now is the time, said Monckton. Heres a link to the full interview if anyones interested. Great stuff mate. They have definately come a long way in their build quality. Next time join Avis Preferred or Hertz #1 and pick up the V8 at LAX. Both have a great range of V8 Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers, and Corvettes and they often do really good deals on them. I'm picking up a V8 Stang from Hertz next Tuesday US$68 a day all inclusive. Did you also note the extreme lack of laser equipped revenue raisers and cash cameras in California. -
The golden rule "If it's got tits or tyres it's gonna cost ya" . Come on guys every 10 cents a litre is only $6.80 a tank 20 cents is $13.60. Just be glad you don't live in Europe. These things are like racehorses, they cost a lot to stable and feed, and gas is going to go a lot further north before it comes south again .

From what I can gather he's always been the same. Whats normal. If he's remaining clean I guess that could be abnormal for him. Most of these people are artistic types who don't fit into what we would call the normal bracket in the first place. They basically forfeit any shred of privacy and normality they have for the fame they either crave or have thrust upon them and are continually watched and/or hounded by the media. He doesn't live my version of normality but he is playing this (the media) for all its worth out of boredom and probably frustration. He is a bit of an extremist and you can't do that many drugs and still have all the neurons firing in correct order. I'm not worried about him and he's not worried about him. This will all fade away when the next so called star makes a slip up. In the past 18 months we have had Brittany Spears, Sandra Bullock's Husband, Hasselhoff, Lindsay Lohan, Alec Baldwin, Mel Gibson and now Charlie Sheen. At the end of the day they are ordinary people with extraordinary lives.
