  3. Saw this on another forum. The story will break shortly.British based Carlin Motorsport has reportedly gained a 25% stake in DJR and will take over the full operation at years end.Carlin run a F3 team and a Renault team as well and have been looking to expand into the V8's for some time. This is not all bad news as DJR even with the JB sponsorship they are not to flush with $$$$$.At least DJR will remain afloat and will probably not undergo a name change. This may help them further up the field as well with a strong engineering base. What does it all mean?? All will be revealed in next MN.
  4. Have you talked with an automotive engineer about this? Your local rego authorities should have a list of "preferred" ones (at least that's how it works in ACT).
  5. happy belated birthday Scotty
  6. Sounds to me like you have the storage thing sussed mate. The only other thing to maybe consider (might not be neccessary for 4 months) is to jack the car up so the wheels are off the ground so the tyres don't get flat spots. If you still have the factory Dunlop tyres they seem to be notorious for getting flat spots though they come good after a few kms of driving. Glad I'm not living in England with the price of fuel there! Or Ireland for that matter with the price of car insurance! Can't see the point of it if they don't pay the first $12K anyway.

  8. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. You can't say for example "I didn't see the 60km/h sign, Officer". Same with a gutted cat. If your car is found to have a defective cat then you can be fined (dollarwatts! ), regardless of if you did it or a former owner did it. I think there was a thread a while back where Simon from Extreme did a flow test of several different cats/exhausts and included Ithink an exhaust with no cat and there was SFA difference between no cat and the highest flowing cat.

  11. APS intercoolers are pretty good but cost around $2000. No
  12. Wheels look too small.
  13. That was probably me that said that! Team Venom is a very exclusive club. I think there's only a couple of us. More exclusive, you know! Vixen did replace Venom, which was carried over from the AU. Vixen is more orange than Venom. Venom is more blood red.
  14. You will require valve springs if you have a BA, but not if you have a BF. You shouldn't need conrods for any model at that power level. There has been some discussion before about HP-Fs "claimed" 400m times. From what I have read on the forum I would expect low 13s/high 12s, not low 12s/high 11s. Autos are usually quicker in a straight line (ie dragstrip) than a manual. You probably need to budget double what you currently are. You may need to add an intercooler and a fuel pump to the list of parts required as well.
  15. DBOSS has a black GT with them (19s).
