  1. Hey guys, Just a question for those of you who have had damage caused to rims, tyres, etc and had to pay for repairs as a result of pot holes on the road. Long story short, the girlfriend drove over a big pothole on the way to work (on a highway that has a 70km/h speed limit) and as a result needed a wheel alignment, 2 new rims and 2 new tyres. $380 all up! What are the chances of getting any of that back from the local government authority that is responsible for that part/section of the road where this occurred?? Cheers
  2. Very very nice you lucky ba$tard!! Bionic is a very nice colour Looking forward to seeing it with your rims on it! Are you going to be lowering it?
  3. I like it What did the Expensive Daewoo boys have to say?
  4. Looks good so far! Is that a XR6T manifold and turbo?? If I was you I would go the Edit.
  5. You should see the thread over at ls1. Everyone was having a dig at him. Poor ba$tard!
  6. I though that the live rear end was better for grip on the track??
  7. Edit only and you will have more then 290kw. But I think you will find that that BOSS290 has a bit more then 290fwkw from the factory!
  8. Nice pics there! What are those rims on that Mercury Silver T?? Looks mint!
  9. Yea I seen that thing too. Looks fully $hit!
  10. Good one Steve, and also good ET to back up that thay do stick
  11. How wide are the factory 17 inch Dunlops on the XRs?? I saw a BA XR8 at a dealer that had 265 at the rear on stock 17s and it looked awesome ......must be good for grip too.

    Tint

Dont waste your money on 35 grade tint. 20 grade is the way to go!
  13. I think you will find that the tips in the pic are just off the shelf items that you can buy at any auto shop and put them on yourself. The rear muffler already has two pipes coming out the back. All you need to do is knock the tips on, no need for welding anything.
  14. I am pretty sure that the rear muffler has two 2.5inch pipes coming out of it at the back. All that needs to be done is to grind off the spot weld that is holding the oval tip on and slide it off. Then just put two round tips on the pipes. I could be wrong but!
  15. Go for it mate! .............I also think you should get valve springs.
  16. Good point Steve. On a flat open road I get the following instant consumption figures in my NA. 90km/h = ~7l/100km 110km/h = ~8l/100km 130km/h = ~9l/100km Gotta be happy with that PS. jaylo that sounds like a good buy for 25k!
  17. For those in the know! Would the assumption that the XR6T has lower compression explain the higher fuel use then the NA engine even when taking it easy?? Lower compression means less power/torque off boost and hence the engine would use more fuel to move the car around?? I get around 580km out of a tank and still have about 40km DTE when I fill up (normally fill about 58L-60L BP ULP). I drive 50/50 freeway/city.
  18. Monroe stock shocks for lowared BA's. I had a set of the Monroe GT Gas shocks (lowared spec) in my old EL (SSL springs) and they were great. Made a huge difference to handeling and also fixed the problem of rear springs coming out of their seats when the car was put on a hoist. BA XT Futura,Fairmont Ghia w/- Sports or equivalent lowered susp. (exc. XR6,XR8), Only Sedans Position Product Name Part # Ride Height Front GT Gas w/- Reflex Strut 35-0508 Lowered Rear GT Gas w/- Reflex Shock Absorber 15-0512+ Lowered
  19. If you just want noise then just remove the centre muffler with a pipe. Leave the rear muffler in place to stop drone. The stock pipe work on the BA is already 2.5inch.
  20. They don’t just fall out if you go over a rise or bump in the road. If the car gets put up on a hoist and lifted of the ground (both back wheels of the ground) and the rear IRS arms are hanging down as far as possible then the springs come out of place. This is because the SSL springs are a lot shorter then the factory springs. Unless you get shorter shocks then this is going to happen for everyone with stock shocks and SSL springs then the back.
  21. I should have asked what shocks and springs have you got?
  22. Yea the Monroe GT Gas shocks are good. Thay also lits different part numbers for lowared BA's. Currently my back spring keep falling out every time the car is of the ground. Very annoying, and no matter how many times I tell Ford Service to double check the back springs when putting the car down they never do! Adrian what springs have you got?
  23. Does anyone know what type and brank of shork absorbers are fitted to a BF GT-P? Would they be better or worse then the Monroe GT Gas shocks?? Looking at replacing standard BA shocks fitter to a Fairmont. I also have SL/SSL King springs. Cheers!

    Dba 4000 Rotors

Might also be worth checking these out!! RDA Slotted RDA Standard I had slotted RDA fron and standard rear rotors on my EL for about 30000kms and they were great! Also cheap too. I am looking at doing the same in the BA as my fronts are in need of replacing soon!

    Menace

I may be wrong but the new Expensive Daewoo hero colour for the new Late model camira is going to be very very similar to Menace. Pre VE testing......... .......and just like the Ford version it looks $hithouse
