Mate if you are that keen, just look for an engine out of a T and do a transplant. Either way its going to cost you about 10g all up in the end! Good luck!

There wa a review in Motor mag a while ago on a BA 6cly ute with the Vortech Intercooled kit from CAPA. The kit costs something like 7k. I think the car made someting like 230rwkw and only ran a flat 14. They also said it did not feel as fast as a Turbo because it lacked the low down torque. It can be done but by the time you buy the kit, install it and get your car custom tuned etc etc etc. You are better of trading it on a XR6T as it is just as fast in stock trim.
  6. Not sure mate but they said its for amp's! I recon its much better then line level converters! Then you get a 4ch Response amp that has RCA out for a sub amp! And you can run your whole system. 4ch for speakers and a 2ch or mono for some doof doof! PS. I did the install in Carlos' Civic and that Response amp cracks

Anyone know what the standard swaybar size is on non XR models?? Fairmont? Cheers
  8. Also worth, ASL do a conversion kit that provides 4ch uprocessed low level output and a remove wire for aftermarket amps. It is listed on their site and I think it is $220. I have emailed them and they said to call them and they would tell me how to pull the radio module out. Need to post it to them and they do an overnight service. They told me that they modify it and when you get it back it will have the additional 4ch low level output and remote wire for amp. I think this would be a pretty good option for those who dont want and additional head unit in their car and also it would be a lot better then line level converters because the signal that you get from the speaker wire is processed by the unit to suit the speaker is is going to etc.
  9. F6 UTE, I am 99% sure that they are somehow affiliated with Ford. When my 6 stacker $hit itself it would not eject my CDs nor play them so my dealer replaced the stacker under warranty and sent the broken one to Ford. About 2 weeks later I received my CDs back and they were sent from ASL, with an ASL Logistics job slip etc.
  10. Good to hear they looked after you mate. I'll have to give them a call when I am after my next set of rims! :D
  11. Yea some people have said the same about Tempe. When I bought my rims there was no one in Perth that sold the same rims. I did an over the phone order and did not have any problems with tempe, but the service could have been a lot better I guess. Have you had a look at www.tech9tyres.com.au they are in Myree and also sell the same rims. Might be worth giving them a call.
  12. Adrian the tyres you get for the listed price on the web site are Nankang NS2 Sports. I have them on my rims and have done 25000kms and I recon they still have another 20000km in them! Do a search for Nankang on the forum and you should be able to find a bit of info on them. They are a cheap tyre, but the majority of people are happy with them. I had a look at the HotRims display at the last Ford v Expensive Daewoo show and they are all the same as Tempe rims. Go to their showroom on Scarb Beach Rd in Ozzy Park and you can see all the rims there in real life
  13. Adrian I only have pics of Kaine's car. One of the best looking colour and wheel combos I recon
  14. Adrian, are you still taking the spoiler off?? Your car would look mint with these rims and no spoiler! http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_clos...rt=&part_no=385
  15. Phuck yea I have seen this thing in Freo many times (parked). Looks hot and the dished rims look mint! Love the Luxo cars. I am thinking that my next ride will be a 5.4 Farmont Ghia or Fairlane Ghia with some nice 19s BA_GHIA_V8, if I see you I'll give you the thumbs up. I am in a Pearl Blue Fairmont with chrome 18s.
  16. Adrian they are very nice rims!! I am sure you will love them. I got a few pics of T's with those rims. If you are not convinced I can post em up.
  17. That sucks! Go to a dealer and speak to the used car manager and ask if he wants a free spoiler. I am sure they will have a XT, Futura or Fairmont on the lot that will be same coulour boot lid that is not sratched. I did the same but I did it when I bought the car and they were more then happy to do a swap with a car that had no spoiler.
  18. Adrian, A few years ago when I worked for a big Expensive Daewoo yard I used to see them put the paint and fabric protection on brand new and used cars, them smart shield packs they sell you (biggest rip off!!). The paint protection is just a Teflon passed coating they put on your paint, it goes on just like wax with an application pad and then they buff it with a rag. No spraying involved. The fabric protection is just some chemicals in a spray bottle that they spray on your seats etc. The entire process takes about 25-30min max per car. So if I was you I would not be worried at all! When you do remove your spoiler there is most likely to be some dirt around and under where the legs were! And I forgot to add, yes it does wash out after a while just like any teflon based wax coating. They recomend that you re-apply the stuff every couple of years or something. But I recon just get some Gold Class Wax and it is the same. Good luck
  19. ...........nah he is better of putting 500 on red and 500 on black then he will walk out a happy winner and get the edit!

    New Ute Questions

Congrats on the purchase mate, I am sure you will love it! I drove a BF XT with 7000kms on the clock (company car) and I hate to say it but it does feel a bit better down low then my BA (both auto), very noticable. I think the BF makes its peak torque about 1000rpm earlier in the rev range and has more torque accros the board. My car made 138rwkw on the dyno so its pretty health I think hehe
  21. Yea they have been around for a while! Its easy to get a system for under $1000 that would sound a lot better then the factory premium, but you dont get the colour LCD. Line level converters for front and rear speakers about $100 Connect the factory deck output into a 4ch Response 4x50 amp $200 Run front (splits) and rear (2way) speakers of the 4ch amp, about $350 Run a 2ch amp (2x80 Response) and bridge it to 1ch @ 4ohm 200wrms, $170 Run the 8inch JBL sub of the 2ch amp, about $120 About $50 for an amp install kit A free saturday afternoon and a six pack and you are away Note that the 4x50 amp has path thru RCA pre-outs allowing you to link to additional amplifiers without the additional cost of RCA splitters. I am not 100% but I think the 4x50 has High Level inputs so there might be no need for the line level converters.
  22. It is lit up mate, I was there last month.
