According to the Courier Mail last Saturday , XRT and XR8 are to get Premium brakes standard and DSC. Now that will be a big imprpovement over the Mk11......

I did flag a warning on this a month ago. I really think it isn't good sense to buy a Mk11 prior to th BF. It will be not a good buy IMO. The 6 speed will be a good car. the MK11 will be known as the car before the 6 speed...

I dont think in 30 years time we will see these cars in unique cars too much. There is just too many of them. The GTHO was a very rare animal. You really had to know someone even to get one.(I tried at the time) There is nothing Ford can do to build a classic like the GTHO . Its impossible. We have just seen Expensive Daewoo drop the Monaro. The closet thing they could build to a GTHO would be a Taxi pack BA on steel wheels with a 340KW Cleveland motor and that aint gunna happen. The market wont buy it. They did in the 70's but they wont know. We expet too much in our 80k cars. Long live the GTHO - we will NEVER see it surface in a new car again.

Another pointless protest. This will have little or no effect on the fuel companies. We have cars that use fuel. They sell it. No brainer. Converting to LPG or diesel is fruitless as well. Get ready for the backlash from mums and dads who stop buying Falcons and Crapadores and start buying cars with better fule ecomony. have a look at the figures - the writiung is already on the wall for the big 2. Go to the UK and preview here in 12 months. VW Aus can't get enough diesel golfs etc. Lets face it bread and butter Aussies buy Falcons and Commodores. They may change their minds whwn they cost $100 to fill - that's big chunk out of the pay each week! I am reliably told down at the dealership there is big concern over fuel prices - they may review their sales forcasts - espacially for V8 Falsc and commodore. I would not want to own a Fairmont of Calais V8..... why would you buy one? In my business the fuel bill has gone up 40% in 4 months. This is going to hurt everyone as we along with most other business try to reocver added costs. We have no choice. Our courier this week put up their charges 27%..........

These are great cars. I have driven many Group A and N Lancers (Eben had a ralliart VR4 Group A car for week once...) These are weapons. They have a great rally heritage. They are just about unbreakable. Some have said its not a refined car. Any car that can run like these cars are very refined and are a lot more perfomance focused than the T. We all know Ford has put some effort into the T but to comare them is a bit tough. If Ford put the same foucs it has as MM into the Evo 8 we would have a GTHO beater. we dont though. the GT isnt even close to these in perfomance. The Evo is a complete package and is designed primarlity to win Group N Rallies. they do this well. It will be a hard car as a daily driver. But it will reward like there is no tomorrow. Good choice. Only lost 10k....not bad! I lost 15k in 15 months.... You wont loose that on an an EVo...

PS2's are the best tyre I have ever had , which include competition tyres. We have used them on a Group A WRX on wet bitumen and no wheelspin at all. They are sinply the best tyre I have ever used in 25 years of driving $2800 for 4 in 18's I have 275/35 18s on rear

When GM replaced the old 5 litre V8 with the Gen 3 in the VT around august I recall , the effect on values of Clubsports and v8 cars plummeted overnight. I had a friend buy a Clubsport a month before the Gen 3 and got a good deal. He traded it recently for a 350Z. All the dealers could say was "it would be worth more if it was a gen111. He still traded it and has been shattered by the real depreciation which was actually more than the tyre wear! We have just got the series 2 BA out and along comes the BF (with little warning). The first thing a dealer will say when it comes to trade in time will be is it a "5 or 6 speed". I think we may see this with Falcon. The gearbox will be a major issue when it comes to trade in time next time I feel. IMHO if your wanting a BA series 2 then wait and pay the extra and get the 6 slotter. I really think the values will come down on the current BA's quickly if the new 6 speed gets a good write up....chaning the series code also will effect prices BA to BF. It always does. A 9/05 XR6T will be worth less than a 10/05 with a 6 speed in the future. They are only a month apart and at trade in time may have the same k's Anyway just a thought.

The only accessory you need for an STi is a mouthguard. Other than their rock hard suspension, they are good. WRP10 is a much better thing.

You may find prestige sales a bit more honest. When cars are 150k, there generally isnt too much crap going down. Customers expect a LOT more honesty and service in the prestige bracket. If your in for that then its a good choice. I know a number of prestige sales guys and they take their job very seriously and offer and deliver levels of service only Ford dealers dream about.... e.g one of them sold a car the other day - from the time the customer did the deal to the time the customer drove away was 2.5 hours. Try that down at Ford! The Ford guys could do it, they choose not to! They need to spend more time over with their mates at Mazda. They offer better service than Ford ever have! and yes I have a Ford, 2 Mazdas and a BMW...

The 6 cyl ones had 210KW. the E39 V8 5 litre have 300KW. Many who have had them dynoed have much more. Mine will do a 12.2 pass A guy the the other day had is new V10 dynoed at 530.9 HP! Not to bad for a stocker! Mine has only a few mods, like Rogue short shift kit and Rogie sway bar brackets. D

Like all BMs the shape grows on you. I really couldnt come a the new one. In the flesh its a different story. I can't help but think that its lost some of its agressive looks. This one is my car....I have never posted a pic before!

Has anyone enquired as to the missing bonnet scoop?
