  1. that's a very good time for that power in an auto let alone a manual.wheres the timeslip posted,id like to see the 60ft etc.matt,you should just take your car to a different tuner for a power run just to see if theres any difference,but make sure they do it in 4th gear.if you are down on power it will only be tune related and easily rectified.try elite mate,get him to have a look at the tune while your there.cheers.chris.

  5. include valve springs in your first round of mods and that takes it out of the equation.I remember wheels magazine putting an xr6t into limp mode due to overheated engine oil during a track day test.maybe you nudged that point?more than likely v/springs though.the crap metal that some of the earlier valve springs were made out of wouldnt like extreme heat either.

  9. if I use anything other than bp ultimate mine pings at 4000rpms.I once had vpower in it and it pinged its brains out so I stopped at the bp servo and added a bottle of octane booster and 20litres of bp ultimate and wella,pinging gone and to tel you the truth its never run harder.

  11. bayswater automatics.wouldnt have a clue if that's a northern suburb or not but from what ive read on here there top quality good price.im sure there will be some of the guys that use bayswater to back me up.headsex is one and he just ran a high 10.

  13. sounds good.dont be so sure it hasnt been modded though.as for the gearbox,the auto is stronger than the t5.

I was quoted $2200 for a full rebuild which included pre ba planetries.theres only so much can be done due to lack of aftermarket support for these boxes.I think $4900 is an absolute ripoff.youd be getting the same job as the $2500 guy,so hes taking nearly $2500 of you for nothing.to me that's no different then having the mongrel steal my wallet.nizpro do rebuilds for less than $3000 and if anybody knows what can be done with these boxes its nizpro.
  15. 320rwkws @ 10psi would be a mean feat wouldnt it? I dont think ive heard of anyone attaining that power with such low boost regardless of mods.

  17. cheers ninka that did the trick.I ground a groove into it,which gave me somewhere to locate the chisel to stop it slipping.first hit dislodged it.job done
  18. yeah,changing the complete hub assembly,when you slide the old hub off ,which I needed a puller for,it leaves behind the bearing seat which in my case is well and truly adhered to the stub axle.
  19. did the front wheel bearings on my ba today and what a nightmare it was.I couldnt get the old bearing seat off and had to leave it on.anyone got any tricks up there sleeve for getting it off.
  20. well,youve got the right fuel and plugs.with the injectors and fuel pump,I meant to upgrade them to say bosch 968's and a walbro intank 500-600hp fuel pump to make sure youve got plenty of fuel in all conditions.leaning out will also cause pinging.then get your tune checked and while there at it they can adjust your tune to suit.if you also replace your valve springs you should get a reliable 240-260rwkws and around 600rwnm with your fuel system capable of much more rather than at its limit.of course that's if you can afford it.urgently have your tune checked regardless.
  21. ping for sure.use only bp ultimate and if your going to get up it make sure youve got over 1/3 tank.if it were me id have my tune checked as well.injectors and fuel pump wouldnt hurt either.
  22. ive got one and wish I had of spent the extra on a process west.car goes great in the colder weather but give it some on a hot day and it feels like its down 40+rwkws,which it probably is.ill be fitting up a decent intercooler very soon.
  23. bosch 968 injectors,tranny cooler and a custom tune.may come to about $1900 new, but as mentioned above,if you chase up a flasher and injectors of a member in the for sale section you should get it done in the $1500 bracket.will net you an honest 240rwkws 600nm torque safely and reliably.
  24. I got a 0-100km 5.6 60ft 2.3 80-120 2.4 wheelspin 1st and most of second.on another run I smoked em up bad and got a 6.6 but my 80-120 was 1.5.cant be right.
  25. its probably just your turbo kicking in at around 2-2500revs.
