  1. it is possible that dominellos is relining the bands with a better material than standard, therefor calling them "high energy".
  2. id go the dominello, geoff booth,he had the hapkdo beast, had a dominello box and he was running 400+rwkws.dont know if he broke it or not, does anyone know how that box held up?
  3. if its a 5spd manual youll need a good clutch for a band aid or a t56 for a solution,as for if its a 4spd auto, anywhere from $2500-$4500 will prolong its life but I dont know how long for.
  4. you wont be sorry mate.keep us all up to date with your progress.cheers.chris.
  5. you've got chiptorque at nerang but, with all due respect to chiptorque, I would travel to brisbane and go to elite.
  6. yeah your right ez2cme my mistake.
  7. is this your car 2muchkw.im sure those plates say your name. vDJYkZW4vJ0
  8. id guess low 300's.looks and sounds the goods but she'd be thirsty.talking about fuel, those injectors you sold me are going well 2muchkw.I see your pushing out some serious kws going by youtube.
  9. ridiculously priced and looks crap.id still go a 25psi ba-fg any day of the week.save myself $100,000+ and absolutely piss all over it.you would have to buy that then add $20,000+ for s/charger or twin turbo to compete with a well sorted t.not to mention the amount of $1.70 premium it would drink.two things I do like about it-dry sump-interior.
  10. id have to agreee with that as well.ive tried the others in brisy and got nothing but crap work by inexperienced people hiding behind a flashy shop.its been 15000kms since paul and the boys modded and tuned my car and it hasnt missed a beat.I dont baby it either that's for sure.
  11. ive got a growler and think its a great intake.excellent induction sound and it gets air from behind the headlight where everyone says is the best flow area.its not possible for it to close up due to heat.that's the one that goes across the top of the radiator and is just a wider version of the factory one.it is overpriced though.mine was cheaper.its not worth $600.
  12. congratulations paul.they are a brilliant looking motorcar not to mention they would obviously be pretty well sorted.
  13. damnit.double post.
  14. your probably just taking the piss but just in case you arent,c4 c9 and c10 are basically the same box.the c6 is the one that's different and from what ive been told the strongest.ive got a c4 lined up for nix so I may as well get it built.I have heard also that the t400 is a better box and would go down that path if that's true.another box that crosses my mind is the t700.they can be built to hold good power and have overdrive but im not sure if they'd like the weight of our cars.I know theres built 4spds out there coping well but in probably every 10-11 sec car they have failed. multiple times in some cases.I want a tough as nails box that doesnt mind 850-1000nm at 2500rpm.ill have a talk to bob grant next week.
  15. is it still ok as a daily driver and if possible what was the damage on that?
  16. ive decided to do a c4 or turbo400 conv as my 4spd has let go.although my power is quite low I still have no confidence in a toughened 4spd.what do you guys reckon would be my best option and has anyone had a conversion done.cheers.chris.
  17. I was about to advertise mine for 22000 with 153000 but with new gearbox and tyres.
  18. hahahahahahahahahahaha
  19. I also agree.if you need a loan for mods, then you cant afford the probs.stick with custom tune only.300+ will kill your auto.not maybe.DEFINATELY.theres $3000+ alone.not trying to wreck your dream, just words of wisdom from people who have done what you want to do.t's are an expensive sport.on the other hand if you can handle having your car sitting there with a broken bottom end or auto until you can afford the repair and have other means of transport go for it.if I were you id get your loan, put that with the proceeds of the sale of your ba and get an 06 bf.mod that once funds allow and you wont need box, rods or valve springs at 330rwkws.
  20. thankyou very much for the info envyt.my 4spd has pretty much got 1-2 gear only and was looking at coming down there for a rebuild due to all the good things ive heard about prestons and kewish.I remember headsex went with bayswater for repairs to his box a while ago.its between kewish and bayswater for me now.who would you guys recommend?
  21. that's what I find confusing adam.it was rebuilt only 5000kms ago at prestons but the car was sent to a different trans shop for the work.most rebuilds if not all carry at least a 12mths/20000kms warranty.performance or standard.he would have recieved a bill at prestons as he opted for a cooler but if prestons found the metal and it was fault related there should be no charge for the service and the problem fixed obviously.
  22. could just be bed in from your rebuild, yes .I dont know what an acceptable amount of metal is though.check it again in 2000 or so kms.id probably let prestons know if its still under warranty though just in case they want to have a look at it.did you get a 1000kms service after the rebuild?
  23. sorry to dig up an old thread but I just noticed this reply to koppers afrs.mines pretty much the same with less power.I dont know that having plenty of fuel is ordinary.leaning out is whats ordinary.can someone who knows what there talking about give there thoughts on these afrs please.
