Hey Spool. They sound great dont they?
  3. You may be right Rus, but the middle of the year is when we get the rain. Imagine if we'd had a cruise Satruday or even yesterday? I went down to Torquay with the kids and it was glorious. However, there were too many Commowhores for my liking.

    that's a great time SteveR
  5. I just want to be clear on this. 1. You can fit a PWR cooler between the intercooler and the radiator? And Mixumus I have the Nizpro big BIG cooler, so this can be done? 2. Wont that affect air flow to the radiator? 2. What about heat soak from the coller to the intercooler??? I thought the best place was in front of one of the wheels???
  6. How about a reasonable transmission/oil cooler kit??
  7. I think theres been on Dillz. It was pretty well publicised from memory. But I think the guy was an out and out loon.
  8. Couldnt have said it better.

DBA Steve. I read your PDF. Mate whats the consensus on machineing prior to pad change? It says at the start that its a topic but doenst go into it further. I was always taught you DIDN"T need to machine with a pad change as long as you bed them in correctly.
  10. Ok, just readinbg the after market manual. It states the following: "Downshift Diagnosis. Part Throttle: At a speed in "D" at 70-90 kmh, wuickly depress the accelerator to half open position and observe - tranmission should downshift at least 1 gear immediately. Full Throttle: Operate the vehicle at 70 - 90kmh in "D" then quickly depress to wide open throttle position and observe transmission downshift to 2nd gear immediately." I hope this helps.
  11. XR09 very true but think of the guy who gets a clubby for his 21st birthday off mum and dad. Youd think, "hey, hell be a hoon" You may be right. But then theres the guy in the Daewoo Lanos doing 140 in a 60 zone. Which one is more dangerous, yet the guy in the clubby or the XRT is the one who will get picked on. Not fair I know. Worm, I wish I had a dollar for every story like that I have heard. Mate, I could be a pr!ck when I worked the highways, and I have had coppers very VERY rude to me as well. And I know what you say is true because I know what to say and what to do and yet they still are rude. Theres definately the "mongrel factor" but for the most part, II'd say most arent a bad bunch. I was a pretty good bloke, I reckon. I think there needs to be some definate discretion in inforcing it or there will be a bloody uprising. I'll tell you this for nothing. With current hoon laws as they stanb, I wouldn't have a police licence very long. HA. I could tell ya stories. lol
  12. Not much cheaper for a tune here XR6TWolf. He is probably better off getting either an aftermarket full exhaust, or seeing if you can buy a second hand exhaust from Aus and shipping it over. Still saving heaps of $. $3900 for a cat? It would want to be a pedigree. lol
  13. Dagabond I agree. I have 2 differeng opinions. On one side its the ex copper in me. I spent 10 years as a collision investigator attending fatal and serious injury collision around the state. Based on what I've seen and the causes of some of these prangs I say, "yep, slow the bastards down". There are a certain % of drivers who just havent got an idea. Seriously. They think they are the next schumaker, have no regard for speed limits, safety or anyone else. You see them everyday. The other side of me is the guy that drives a 600hp car around everyday. Jeez if I nail it to overtake, I'm doing 160 before I've passed the other car. Most of you know what I mean. I can't afford to loose my licence but god all mighty I don't want my baby sat in some impound yard for 30 days, especially for one mistake. So to that end I think its quite harsh. Theres a line you have to draw. And that line is simply the D1ckhead factor. There are those (and I've been one) who are simply d1ckheads and really don't deserve to be driving let alone drive a powerful car. And I'm not just talking P platers or young people. But there are those who don't fall under that line. But its the d1ckheads that you want off the road. I think among us we need to have open discussion and perhaps representation made to our local members to ensure excessively harsh laws are not introduced that penalises those not guilty of being a d1ckhead. I welcome your comments. PS..Its not the coppers fault. Its the pollies who make the law. Fair enough, the coppers advise. Makes me sad.
  14. I see this is your first post so I assume you havent had a T long??? Mate welcome to the world of the ZF box. I had similar issues when I first got mine. Mate when you boot it if you give it too much it will down shift. I have an aftermarket manual and there are set tolerances for when it will shift down. Ok sometimes it will shift down one too many gears. Its a pain. The ZF will hold onto a gear a little longer in case you want to nail it again. It will take a little whiole to get used to and it will also take a little while to train your right foot to ease on the power and not tramp it. Good for V8s but sot so good for turbos. Others may say I'm wrong. The ZF WILL adapt to your driving style. If you are driving briskly it will adapt. Its not super bloody intelligent but it does. If you put it in Perf mode, you will feel the down shifts on deccel to be quite severe at times. But yeah, the holding in gear when booting is common and yeah sometimes even I have to manually upshift. Others may say different. But I hope I've helped ya.
  15. Mate I am limited in my knowledge on it as well, but you can get the hot side pipe on the intercooler (common I beleive in Fgs, not so in BA/BF) come adrift and this will reduce boost. Have a search in the threads, perhaps the turbo thread for boost leak. If the guage is ok, and fitted correctly then you simply arent boosting. that's why its not showing up on the guage. There is a thread where you can test for a leak but its pretty involved. Someone else may know more. But do a search or go to the Newbie thread (sorry to call you a newbie) and and a browse. I'm sure there are tell tale signs.

Quite possibly diff. Could also be wheel earing. I say that because I was always told a goo test to see if a bearing is gone (and again, I'll stand corrected) is, if you hear noise, turn the car from one side to the other and when you put weight on the wheel with the crook bearing, the noise lessens or dissappears. But I think your behond that. Has the diff or diff bush been serviced or replaced? I have a nylon diff bush in now and it is noisier, but I know its a stronger product and so I dont mind. Plus, a good Acca Dacca song gets rid of anynoise. lol But again, tryes. Mine really only made a real bad noise as I decellerated past, say 43 ks. But mine was more of a vibration I guess. Have you sat in the back while someone else is driving? You could also try removing the back bottom seat (Its just clipped in) and see if its loader without the deadening affect.
  17. R8, where did you here this mate?
  18. You may have put it in the wrong place. However, it is an electronic one? Mine has a tube that goes to a sender and then qires go to the guage. The sender and/or guage could be shot. Troubleshooting the guage should be easy. Try the connection to a different spot in the intake somewhere although its all pressurised so it really shouldnt matter, or try another guage if ya can. If its stock though, you may only be producing a fe psi of boost. Maybe you have just discovered a boost leak??? Sorry, havent helped you much have I?
  19. Bump! Any news on this???
  20. Hey guys, those who have removed the bumper, I have heard that the hardest part is the clips on the side. I am told you pull out and down until you feel a "POP" and you away. I guess its one of those things that you will know how to once you do it. But anyone had great problems with that bit?? Bl;ack does dissipate heat quicker. Like red cars go faster. But I don't know how doppler shift can relate to thermodynamics and loss of energy through colour absorbsion. But then, I havent a clue how to use the Foxtel remote.
  21. I've saved about $8. I had a similar issue however I have a button to switch between the audio screen and the car pc. I must haver knocked it and it was late and I was tired. I was about to rip the ICC out AGAIN when I realised what I had done. I didnt get the answer here but I didnt know about the 10 second push the button inny thingy until I rewad the manual a few months back. Amazing how "SMart" we think we are. We buy something for say $20k to $60 and we usually never read the bloody manual. How smart are we???

My first run with 370 rwkw was 13.9. I ran it under half a tank to keep weight down but half way down the track I ran out of petrol and had to back off. Secon run 13.5 and same thing happened. Went out and filled up with 98. Third run, 13.0 dead without warminng up the tyres and with the towbar fitted. I have since got that down to 12 dead but can't keep traction once the boost kicks in in first and second. My 60fts are so slow. So I'd say get your launch right and you'll pull good number. More power is NOT necessarily always a good thing.
  23. I think your find regular Fford service as per the book is 15,000. Vicpol cars were oil changed every 5000 and serviced every 10,000. That was the traffic cars (we always looked after them). At stations, the div vans could go beyond that a bit cause they couldn't afford to bring them off the road for a day sometimes, especially if there wasn't a replacement vehicle available.
  24. Bump bump and big gump. C'mon guys. Get on board. SOOOOO looking forward to this cruise. Weekend away. Good Roads, great cars, reasonable company Seriously...where is everyone???
  25. that's a dam good job there xtrmn8, really good effort. Is it easy to remove your filter for cleaning? Do you get any turbo flutter noise feedback at all throught that? Certainly woul dbe cheaper and more efficient than any other intake I'd bet.
