  1. So all these conversions are with led globes but the standard tail lamp assembly, yeah? I want to keep that. Im not a fan of the after market ones. Like standard if I can.
  2. I have an 07 BF T with a 6 speed ZF. Done around 180k. All works well (touch wood). Ive had a BA before so I know whats happening isn't right. The dim shift light that lights up when all lights are turned off but the ignition is on doesn't appear anymore. Normally, I wouldn't care but it happened a year or so ago when I removed the ICC to fix a fault and it hasn't worked since. The selector globe is ok cause it works at night and when I switch the ignition 5on it flashes. Now, does everyone see a shift light during the day or should I reduce my meds? Is there only one globe in there or two? Sounds silly. Have I broken something? Its just like a dash rattle. Has been worrying me for a while but searching here and there brings nothing. Im going to replace the globe in there now. That may shed light ( no pun intended), hopefully there is a simple answer. Thanks in advance.
  3. I couldn't find anything on it. Its just anuvva thread lol
  4. Do you know the wattage is on the ones you got are? They are just a wedge globe yeah?
  5. Kool. Thanks mate. Make reversing better? Although that's not the main reason I just like good light. But I don't want to melt
  6. Thanks. I like these little guages. Cheep and ok but I love how they all sweep when ya firstower up. Love that.
  7. BUMP. Ive looked around re this and id like to bump it as tech changes over time. First I think you need to catergarise. First, cars pre and post LEDs. Well cars post will have LEDs so we needn't bother with them. For those of us with BABF that have non LED it involves us. Bare with me. So, the two categories. are, LED globs or full LED replacements? I would think full LED units would gave everything you need but as GR8XR6 says, I'm not keen on the look either. So, I, like many who change to HID or replace interior globs with LEDs (one of the best and cheapest mods I've done IMO), want to upgrade to LED globes only. Indicator is a straight bulb change however, the light blinks on and off because of heat build up in a relay which opens and closes as the globe draws current. There are a number of articles on this and I believe 3 ways to approach. One appears to be the way to go, I cant remember which it was but you can get what you need in the globe or get a relay but you do need to have something so it will blink. Now excuse the lack of info here but the intention was not to tell you what to do. What id like to know is, has anyone changed to LED globes and not gone aftermarket units? We have: Brake lights which may or may not affect ABS/Cruise; Tail Lamp; Reverse Lamps; Indicators (Does need adaption for relay to heat up and blink); Front Parking lamps (have done these. Straight swap. Colour matching can be an issue) Rear Number plate lamps (Done. Straight swap) So anyone done any of these? I like LED running lights. As for ADR that doesn't worry me as much as the over exuberant copper who knocks you off for using driving with them on during the day, but some look way over the top. As mentioned, the interior lights.....no question. Any new car comes into my house its online or over to JayCar for some LED. The colour and visibility inside the car is smick and I love it. Sorry for the long post but if anyone has done those globes I haven't please comment. Thanks Rud.
  8. Is anyone running or installed aftermarket seats in their BF XR 6/8 sedan? If so, what have you fitted? Price and anything to avoid or look for? After something that is a good seat, maybe a track day, but general an everyday. I could just replace the damaged seat but wanna check my options before I shell out the coin. Cheers. Rud.
  9. How did ya go with this? Get it fixed? If so, how much and what did you do? Chees.
  10. Sorry. Only just saw this. Get any help? I may have a set of instructions. Let ,e know and il scan and send.
  11. thanks mate. I hear what you are saying. Its pristine at the moment from being garaged and I was more worried about rubbers and black surfaces when left in the sun for long periods is all.
  12. Hi everyone. My car has always been garaged. Its 6 years old and the paint looks likes its new. I do look after it. In the near future it is going to spend periods outside the garage. This is outside my control. I need to get a car cover, a good one, to protect it from UV and dust and stuff. Id prefer not to but its not an option. Can anyone recommend a good one to me that wont do more harm that good please? I need to know pretty quick so I can get someone to get it for me. Really appreciate you advice everyone. Buy the way, I am looking on ebay but there is a lot to choose from and Id rather buy from experience than price. I have heard some scratch the paint etc, Cheers, Rud
  13. Hi all. Just wondering if anyone knows what a set of BFII XR 6 Update (2007) 18" rims and tyres would be worth? Two tyres are 60%. New, the other 2 are down towards, but not touching the tread depth indicator. Probably got 10 or 15 k of life in those ones. These are Ford genuine factory rims. Wheels themselves are in good knick with 2 of them showing a little bit of gutter rash.Has anyone bought or sold these type of wheels recently and if so, what are they worth? Thanks. Oh and admins, if this is in the wrong place, pleas let me know.
  14. When changing the bearings on the front of a BF, do you need any special tools and do you need to replace the bearing nut at the same time or can you use the existing one???
  15. Hawlass I get what your saying. But you can get some kick ass fuses, 300 amp even. I like that isolator. Looks neat but its inside the boot. I would have thought outside would be safer. But I do like the setup. Where did you get that isolator from?
  16. Has anyone bothered to put in an isolator switch when doing this or just a fuse near the battery?
  17. I performed this oil change today and it was as simple as explained and certainly as easy as an engine oil change if not easier. A suction pump is the go and a 30mm socket for the filler plug is certainly adequate. A tip on another forum is to make sure you can undo the filler plug before you drain. No sense draining the diff if you can't fill it. It is amazing how filthy the fluid is that comes out but then I don't think its ever been changed on my car.
  18. Don't use a ring spanner to undo the drain plug on a BF it gets stuck and ya cant get it out. That's probably why it said earlier to use an open end spanner. Ahhh to hell with convention.
  19. Got it mate. Thanks. Easier than I thought. Now for the alternator.
  20. Does anyone have any walk throughs or tips or know of any to replace or remove the drive belt from a Barra 6?
  21. Hi everyone. I am horrified to think I know what this could be but would like some input. Driving through an underground carpark the other day I could hear a slight clunk from the rear end. Now I hear a slight ticking (no its not a bomb) as I turn a corner and now I think of it, the noise while in the carpark was also when I was turning. Its a 2007 BF XR T which obviously has an LSD. Any thoughts with that short description? me thinks I knows but don't want to say it.
  22. Not being critical of Gary at all as he does his best to promote this, But perhaps we should start promoting this cruise forum wide just after Christmas and make it a focal cruise. Those that have been one it know the value and how good the hotel at Jindy look after us. I remember my first one a few years ago and I think there was 14 or 15 cars and it was really good. I know it's difficult, times are tuff, but with plenty of notice and a little planning, you can put a little away each week to save up for it. I really couldn't afford it this year and had chemo the day before we left but I went cause its a chance to see people I only see once a year, great mates and also met a couple of new faces. All in all it is just a great 3 (or 4) days of bagging GM and appreciating our cars. Anyway,I've had my say. I'll fade back into the ether again. lol
