If I upsh*t danually all is well. Only thin gi can think the rear tyres are now been repkaced with a slightly diffrent rollin diameter ect old may be 245/4or18 now its like 245/45 r18.I put it on ids at work no dtc's has had oil change in box. latest pcm and tcm software.Any idea guys.cameron
January 15, 201115 yr #2 I see this is your first post so I assume you havent had a T long???Mate welcome to the world of the ZF box. I had similar issues when I first got mine.Mate when you boot it if you give it too much it will down shift. I have an aftermarket manual and there are set tolerances for when it will shift down. Ok sometimes it will shift down one too many gears. Its a pain. The ZF will hold onto a gear a little longer in case you want to nail it again. It will take a little whiole to get used to and it will also take a little while to train your right foot to ease on the power and not tramp it. Good for V8s but sot so good for turbos. Others may say I'm wrong. The ZF WILL adapt to your driving style. If you are driving briskly it will adapt. Its not super bloody intelligent but it does. If you put it in Perf mode, you will feel the down shifts on deccel to be quite severe at times. But yeah, the holding in gear when booting is common and yeah sometimes even I have to manually upshift.Others may say different. But I hope I've helped ya.
January 15, 201115 yr #3 Ok, just readinbg the after market manual. It states the following:"Downshift Diagnosis.Part Throttle: At a speed in "D" at 70-90 kmh, wuickly depress the accelerator to half open position and observe - tranmission should downshift at least 1 gear immediately.Full Throttle: Operate the vehicle at 70 - 90kmh in "D" then quickly depress to wide open throttle position and observe transmission downshift to 2nd gear immediately."I hope this helps.
January 15, 201115 yr #4 Author I not sure if it is seeing I work for a ford delearship as spares manager it never used to do it nither dose any of the other I drove eg g6et or f6 ect the boys out back had look and cant fault anything but def agree it should not linger in the higher gears so long at high rpm and when I back off it should drop back to 5 or 6th quickley. Thanks cameronps sorry bout the spelling lol.
January 15, 201115 yr #5 That's not how the ZF operates. If you've given it a fair bit of throttle it will downshift and stay in the lower gear when you back off the gas.It will up shift again once you reapply the throttle.
January 15, 201115 yr #6 Author Well looks like its just me lol thanks for the info guys. Just got lil woried bout it .thanks cameron
January 15, 201115 yr #7 with a 'normally operating' ZF it will hold the gear depending on how quickly you get off the throttle. once you have overtaken and up around 140kmh try slowly letting your foot off the throttle and see if it drops down quicker.
