Urgent Help- Ignition.
Good news. Just took the car to another workshop near me- an auto elecs- had to hold the key on the whole time. I already had the shroud taken off around the ignition, he just took a hammer and a metal rod thing and hit the pins on the switch back into place on the left side of the column, good as new. Took him less than one minute. He said that it is common and that it should be good as gold now, the pins were coming loose and soon the switch was just going to pop out and I would have been in trouble. Just cost me a 6 pack of beer! And now it is back to the way It was when I first bought it. What a f*cking relief, thanks guys.

Urgent Help- Ignition.
Hey guys, as per a previous thread I had running my Ignition barrel is busted. The key goes in and doesn't stop at the stages (accessories, etc), it just turns and lets me start the car, and then when I let go of the key it kicks itself back to the "off" position. I can't drive the car unless I physically hold the key in the on position. We established, by another forum member, that the problem is the electrical switch at the rear of the barrel, which is moulded into the ignition lock assembly. I confirmed this with a local auto electrician who will do the job if I get the part from Ford. The ignition lock assembly is changed and you install your original barrel and use your original key- good news. Now the bad news. Called the local Ford dealer, they say that the ignition lock assembly is fixed to the steering column, and you have to replace the whole column, quoted $1200. Now I don't mind maintaining my Ford but surely this is ridiculous. Can anyone please help me out by confirming what actually needs to be done, and if you could provide part numbers or names or anything would be much appreciated. Thankfully I am on holidays at the moment so I don't need the car all that much, but it is a pain having it grounded. Hopefully one of you who actually work for Ford can confirm it for me. Thanks

New Gauges
Yeah it's a miss aly pod. I ended up getting them to my door for about 130 bucks AU for the pair, but as I said it was when the dollar was strong! I had them in my room for ages trying to organise a place to install them and no one wanted to touch them, so I ended up doing it myself.

New Gauges
Hi guys, finally fitted my new gauges, ended up doing it all myself and it wasn't that much as a pain as I thought it would be. Finally have some pics, though they are a bit rough. BTW the gauges are 'glowshift' gauges that I got sent over from the states. There is a button on the face and you can change the colour of the gauge, 7 colours. I think this blue colour matches the dash perfectly.. I got trans temp and boost, personal choices. I love the gauges but wouldn't really recommend buying from these guys, customer service is SH*THOUSE. And I got them when the AUS was like 90 something US cents :D Hope ya like, give me some opinions!

New Speed Camera Type
Does check registered owners of vehicles, licenses and 'whereabouts' if required. Usually has a Police line a few k's down the road, road corps officer radios descriptions and vehicles that are coming down that have been flagged and what for, Police pull in only the cars that get a return. Of course as mentioned above, alot of false calls as other people may be driving, not just the registered driver.

Gauge Power
I have decided to wire two gauges up myself, having already searched on here and read the tutorial for the triple gauge installation, I need advice on the wiring. The gauges I have chosen require 1 x constant power wire and 1 x constant "switch" wire. I believe that I can tap into the cigarette lighter wire for the switch, what should I use for constant? Thanks guys

Black Gtp Wheels
Oops sorry, I think the BA GTP wheels, the 5 spoke that are thin and then go thick towards the outer of the rim. I think they were black with a sliver lip like the typhoon rims..

Trans Temp
Hi there, I'm fitting a trasmission temp gauge and wondering about the fitment. I was considering putting the temp probe into the sump of the trans, but seems like a big job and might cost a bit. Another option I read about was simply binding the trans temp probe to the return pipe from the trans cooler with copper wire, no need to drill any holes or such. Does the standard xr6 t have a trans cooler? Any suggestions on fitment of a trans temp gauge? Thanks

Gauge Install
Hi guys, just picked up my boost/vac and trans temp gauges, and have a miss aly twin pod. Can anyone recommend anywhere in Melb pref West subs to get these fitted? I tried around town and no one wants to do the job as they don't want to go near the trans temp, sounds like a hard job. ...And I have searched the topic already, Aussie Car Enhancements in Melton is no longer operating, but would have been close for me! Cheers
