Any Ideas For Group Buys? - Window shopping for blokes...
I can do a group buy on coil packs, what are they normally worth??
Ford quoted me $69 with no trade or other discount. -
Paintless dent removal will be able to get that one out (on the guard) for sure. For a comparison, a kangaroo actually hopped into the side of my bros Late model camira and hit the front guard right on the wheel arch where the crease is. The dent was about the size of a football and was removed by a paintless dent romoval expert. You could never tell it ever happened.

option 2 would be the easiest one and the answer you are looking for to remove the oil from the intercooler and associated plumbing. If you were to get a custom made catch can, id plumb up both - option 4.You must remember its illegal to vent a catch can to the atomsphere. I just installed a catch can plumbing (option 2) and used a generic can but added a baffle in the can. The generic cans are only very basic, using volume to separate the oil from the air. The best cans are baffled which slows the oil/air enough so the oil separates from the air and drops to the bottom of the can by gravity. There is a bit involved in designing an efficient catch can. Have a read of this if you want to learn more on air/oil separation: http://peugeotforum.dk/images/Oilbreather/...her_systems.pdf

You can probably (you have) get away with fitting the stone tray with the BA bumper. The bottom of the BF bumper seems to bend upwards making the stone tray a bit too much of a stretch for my liking. However, I havent compared the BA and BF bumper side by side, they might be the same down the bottom.

You could add an under headlight cold air intake like the ones sold by Process West or Rapid. Also you could cut down the stock crossover and just retain the throttle body side. I might do it....

01txr - The Hdi kit for the XR6T is not one of the off the shelf Hdi intercoolers you probably have bought. The XR6T Hdi kit uses a 100mm thick intercooler compared to your 75mm GT series intercooler. This kit also requires you to cut into the bumper bar steel reinforcement, but the air con line gets in the way stopping it from going up higher. I have taken some crap pics in my garage, might update them when the car is out in the driveway and clean!
-
As far as the BF goes, you cannot get the cooler any higher as the Air con pipe is in the way. The Hdi kit I have sits directly in the middle, 01txr, are we talking about the same Hdi kit? I know there was an earlier one. I dont see the point spending any money on this kit to modify it to try and get it up higher. You may as well go buy a Process West or Rapid kit.
hey sticks what kind of price do you think you can get the ford coils for?? as I am about to buy some soon so I am interested in them..
me also interested in coil packs. -
Ideally, it would be better if the cooler sat a bit higher so you didnt have to mod the bottom of the bar and also retain the stone tray/guard. The less cutting the better! However, it turned out nicely in the end. I have ground off the two alloy bosses on the bottom of the cooler that are not used, it doesnt bottom out like it use to.

Im searching around for the cheapest 42lb injectors for my BFT. She is fitted with the JTG liquid injected LPG which runs 99% of the time. Currently, she has a custom tune which achieved 236rwkw. I have figured that I will only need 42lb injectors to achieve highish 200rwkw. Since use LPG 99% of the time, the petrol injectors are only needed at startup or on the way to the closest LPG stockist. However, I need the LPG injectors calibrated to suit the petrol injectors. Since I will be getting the tune done on LPG, and cut the cost, I feel as though I do not reed 'new' 42lb injectors. I came across someone who sells what they called 'refurbished' injectors. He advertises Bosch 42lb ev6 for $350 for 6. Looking elsewhere they seem to retail around $90 each. Heres the link : http://cgi.ebay.com.au/EV6-42lb-440cc-BOSC...%3A1%7C294%3A50 For the price, should I give them a go or wait around to find someone selling second hand units that I would only assume as used new ones?

No the over radiator intake will not fit back on. One positive side, it has nice induction note, sucking hot air or not. I also have a second intake snorkle anyway. The radiator fan shroud needed a bit of a trim, not the fans themselves though not a big deal. Also as you can see, the cooler hangs a bit low. I trimmed the lower part of my bumper so the last row of the cooler hangs below. Might sound a bit nasty, but if you take your time cutting it, it will turn out neatly. The stone tray does not fit back on but it has not been an issue driving without it at all. The steel bumper reinforcement structure needs to be trimmed which is common for aftermarket intercoolers. Ya gotta remember, this cooler is 100mm thick. Also, the kit comes with some sh*t alloy angle pieces which hold the cooler in place. These broke within a week so I made some up myself easily out of steel. The cooler is solid now.

Definately needs a tune as my car overboosted easily before the tune. Heres some pics of the kit on my car for reference.

Next Sydney Night Run....friday 8th May 2009

Had a good night, even though my passenger got sick half way up mac pass! Looking forward to the next one. Arjey, nice pics..that's my engine bay. -
I have had no issues with engine temp or tuning with this intercooler. Maybe the airflow is just too low on the dyno. Too much heatsoak? I find the piping in the engine bay to get quite hot, although the intercooler has always been ok, warm on the inlet side of the cooler but mostly cold the rest of the cooler. I have also removed the stone tray under the cooler and have had no issues on the freeway either. I made a conservative 236rwkw on LPG, everything else standard.

On the subject, Id be interested in purchasing a brighter, larger display for the gears. I find the display a bit small and hard to see in the daylight sometimes. Anything out there?

I have the HDi cooler and had no issues with getting her tuned. The HDi cooler isnt that big compared to some. Id be looking elsewhere.

I am also looking around for an alternative to the high price genuine ford oxygen sensor. bjcrown, did you find out any more info on the above part numbers? I have seen oxygen sensors on ebay for around the $60 mark to suit a BA turbo, is there a difference for the BF?

myne doesnt pop or fart either when it hits the rev limiter. She only pops a bit when traction control is trying to do its job.
-
What you are describing as the sudden stop at the top of the rev range is actually the rev limiter

Labour should have been included for $4700. I paid $5000 including the doughnut tank, TOTAL! Anyway, good to see it works well now.
-
You got charged for labour???!!
-
I payed $4700 for the JTG system plus $300 for the doughnut tank. This seems to be the going rate. Oh yeah, my installer had free loan cars Maybe price has gone up?
-
Firstly, $6k??? JTG system?? Im getting 300-350km from average 45L. Myne has smooth power and a good idle. I usually get around 80Km when the red light comes on. Something doesnt seem right, first point of call would be your installer.
