Help please BA xr6 turbo btr part number

Hi y'all just after little please just purchased a btr 4 speed just want to check if this part number is for a turbo or na btr gearbox

Any help would be appreciated so I can get my money back if it's a na box cheers

Hey mate,

 

The part number 3R23-7000-AC is from a naturally aspirated (NA) Falcon - most likely a BA XT or Fairmont with the standard BTR 4-speed auto. This is not the correct gearbox for an XR6 Turbo, and it won’t hold up to the torque of a turbo setup without internal upgrades.
 

For the factory XR6 Turbo BTR 4-speed, the correct transmission part number is typically:

4R23-7000-AC or 4R23-7000-AD
 

These were fitted to BA and early BF XR6 Turbo models before the switch to the ZF 6-speed. The "4R23" prefix is key -  it designates the upgraded unit suitable for the turbo engine, with stronger internals, revised clutch packs, and a higher stall torque converter.
 

So unfortunately, if you bought 3R23-7000-AC expecting a turbo box, it’s an NA unit and not suitable unless you plan on doing a full rebuild with uprated parts.
 

I'd definitely recommend getting your money back if you were promised a turbo trans.
