Boosting issues xr6 turbo ba

Car Is having boosting issues especially when cold new plugs new coils, when driving it seems that the revs get stuck and a popping noise can be heard from the turbo side but then hits boost straight after that. Car has a few mods bigger fuel pump, injectors, exhaust, external wastegate, side turbo intake, after market intercooler, and a screamer and is also on 12 psi of boost would love some advice to lead me to the right direction cheers

How loud is the popping? if it's more of a "bang" then it'll be some sort of ignition getting back to the turbo intake (unlikely)... if it's a tinkling popping sort of sound, it might be knock, which is worse for your engine internals. I'd get it run up on a dyno to check air-fuel ratio's and the relevant tune run-up.

@k31th you can definitely hear the popping noise it happens 1 or 3 times while it’s hitting boost and with just hold the revs and won’t go anywhere then 5 seconds later it would boost hard. So you think it’s a tune issue?

it's hard to know... it could be a mechanical issue like a sticky wastegate or something, but a dyno run will help diagnose it.

More than likely it's boost spiking and hitting boost cut when it comes onto boost. Easy to check and easy to fix.
