Current values FG F6s

Recommended Posts

Hey guys my brother has a 2010 FG F6 sedan 95000kays it’s only got minor mods cat dump injectors and tune, car is in good condition and requires no mechanical work

only fault with it is a few stone chips etc.

I’d buy it but I got my own F6 haha

what do you guys think is a fair price? What people are asking on car sales compared to what redbook says there worth is a totally different world and the dealer when he went to buy his ranger said to him not even gonna value it for you as youl be deeply offended as to what I offer you for it and it’s worth more.... (surprised a dealer would say that but good on them I guess)

could just be another reason they don’t wanna trade it idk but that’s what he said.

There’s really hardly any on car sales either  and I don’t bother with lookin at gumtree full of morons and dreamers

Thanks for the opinions guys

main reason I ask is 18 months ago higher Klm examples could be got for around 28-30k these days a dealer is asking 43 for a model with 140xxx kays on it and some private sellers want over 50 it’s hard to put a price on it...

Prices on fb are nuts but good examples seem to be selling well even modified xr6turbos are going mid to high 20s or low 30s it’s crazy atm. Covid tax and ppl just want in on the mighty barra modded or not ppl don’t seem to mind, modded even fetching a premium if they’re done right. Sellers market but probably wont last forever

@Bulletime wow any link for the Ute? So I can take a geez at it....

yea we was thinking 35k would be a fair price to ask funny people usually say power mods don’t attract value and in some cases detract from value but I guess with these barras it just depends who’s looking getting harder to find completely factory ones these days.... mite just list it at 35 non negotiable or put asking price slightly higher so people can knock it down a few K and be happy.... we shall see how we go thanks for the input guys...

I guess another factor would be if  people badly  want F6 over XRT... or if they just don’t care,, I know there very similar cars but there’s a lot less F6s goin around compared to XRs

Sorry cant find the ad on fb now maybe he took it down probably got too much hate lol or sold fast dunno

From what I’ve seen on the facebooks F6s are super desirable and ppl usually have them listed in the 30s and 40s, nfi what they go for but almost every day there’s a WTB F6 post. I’d say it’ll sell well dont short change urself.

Here’s two 500kw xr6turbos listed at 35k, no idea what they’ll actually get for them 768e62023b16f4152e99c2440e1d0f5f.jpg

Thanks for the input guys,, yea deffs don’t wanna short change the sale but at the same time don’t want it sitting around for months either will put an advertisement up and see how we go....

I guess maybe apart of the reason they holding value is these days you can’t buy a new proper high performance sedan unless you got 150k plus for a euro.. that and the reputation of the barras for easy power..

wow that green one 535rwkw on a standard bottom end that’s brave

just on a side note anyone seen what VF HSVs are going for if ya think turbo falcons are overpriced take a look at a VF HSV as much as I hate to admit there an awesome car but you’d have to be nuts to pay what people want for them... (unless your loaded that is)

Agreed mate other issue which helps pricing is there’s no other high powered performance sedans on the market unless you can afford the expensive euro stuff and even then.... I own a 2018 C63S AMG things a beast and a better car then my FG F6 but is it 120k better nah no way

Hey thanks for the info :) just an update brother put his F6 up and we had it sold for 44k within 5 days, there was also the usual group of idiots offering just over half  the asking price.. he could of got allitle more I think considering how quickly People jumped on it but the amount of stupid phone calls you have to take is ridiculous plus people making a viewing time then canceling last minute or never even rocking up is so inconvenient.... (I was taking most of enquires as my brother is constantly interstate for work).. anyways after buying it for 48 back in 2012 I think he did quite well.

so yea for anyone considering selling looks like now is the time... I'd sell my

F6 but there's nothing to replace it with just rather build it up nice :)

for anyone interested buyer was a 20 year old kid just got his full licence and dad bought him the car for a gift one lucky kid

No worries. Sounds like it was listed too low if it sold that quickly haha but can understand being glad to have it sold after all that hassle.

Mental depreciation on a 9 yr old car to only lose 4k on it. Crazy times indeed.

I just was able to up my insurance coverage from 19k to 25k on my modded 09 xr6turbo with all these crazy prices.

Yea know what you mean but  all the ones that are listed above 50 have been on car sales for months they havnt moved can't be bothered for rego and green slip to expire next month as that's additional cost and he bought it in 2011 but  it's actually an early 2010 build so it's actually 11 years old but yea to only lose 4K in 10 years is unheard off crazy!

wow who you insured with? My  FG F6 is only insured for 25 through nrma they refused to insure it for anymore then that

We had it listed for 49990 and people were offering 30 like wow haha yea but I agree I reckon there was a few thousand more in it but if rego and green slip had run out there's another 1k gotta throw at it etc etc... but thanks for all The input guys!!

Shannon’s. Guy I spoke with was good even had an xr6turbo himself and he said yeah they know how sort after they are at the moment. I just rang up and said I wanna cover myself since the second hand market has gone crazy. I was already with Shannon’s but just rang up and yeah got the cover increased.

Big thread on fb today a few ppl having success increasing what they are insured for. Totally worth it.

25k and that was the max they would insure  it for last year!!! So a 9k increase is good touch wood if something was to happen I still couldn't replace it for 34k but it's much better than 25!!

Yeah that’s a healthy increase! Its not just the replacement factor but what if u have a minor accident and if it’s the difference between them writing your car off or repairing based on what u have it covered for. Lots of things to consider, but ill still keep an eye on things and if in 6 months times things r even crazier I’ll try upping again.

Glad it worked out for u though

No other place will insure my XR6T Manual. RAC refused to quote. Same with AAMI.

I am with Shannons at the moment and they are well aware of all the mods on the car.

Insured for 24k and no more. Been with them for a couple of years now.

For the last year, she has not put on more then 3000km. My new toy covers all the kms now.

I have been tempted to sell her, but I just don't know if I can bring myself to do it. She has been a daily since 2012 up until late 2019/early 2020.

I also don't know if I would have the patience to put up with all the phone calls.

Yea nrma were happy to insure me (it's in my business name though and with good claim history idk if this makes a difference in there decision or not)

Also GIO were also happy to insure on the proviso that they won't cover anyone under 25 driving it.

shannons I tried years ago but they were so damn expensive (like double) and I never tried again maybe I'll get a quote next renewal and see what they say

my advice if you could use the money and you don't love the car the way you once did sell it.

If what you'd get selling it won't make a big difference to you keep it and have solace in the fact you own a car never to be made again and a great one at that.

Personally I don't think the hype for the Barra will be as hot as what it is right now forever... so if you do want to eventually sell I'd be selling now.
