Hi all,  been a while since I posted..  I replaced diff and car running perfect..  I have only just had a chance to pull the cover plate off the old diff..

Well, don't think a set of bearings is going to fix this problem..!

Probably made from the same metal they used in the fg cams.

I have these exact same symptoms. No noise on acceleration or cruising but as soon as I take my foot off the pedal and it slows down to below 60km it makes this really loud howling noise. It's a ute what are the things I should be checking and what are the best ways to determine where it's coming from?

I had the exact same symptoms today and blew my diff, its a car I don’t drive much at all (once a month if lucky), last night I changed my wheels to second hand wheel I bought off marketplace, drove it around today noticed a sound/feeling exactly as described in the original post (literally spot on) and silly me was convinced it was probably something to do with the wheels I had just slapped on (maybe not balanced, maybe buckled)

anyway driving home had my mate in-front of me do a pull so I intended to follow, second gear flat foot Boom. Caught it all on my dash cam haha
