Agreed... the issue is... I would never stack clean on one side and dirty on another.... because the design includes two dishwashers....

Hence only dirty dishes then into the washer...

However I agree needs more room as I said plans arent adequate.... .

What I will say is... that breakfast designed to have 70cm from edge of tap (back side of it) to edge of benchtop... meaning ...  the working side (sink side) of the benchtop is 900 deep.... and the eating breakfast side is 700 deep.....

I have got more to scale and working on cad drawing atm..

Will post when donee

Not a fan of sinks in the island, water goes everywhere.

If you can't avoid it make sure you leave enough room on both sides of the sink (ideally sink in the middle)

Big fan of the cross cross tiles splash back, looks hot!!!

Agreed. Place I stayed at in Broome had the sink hard up against one side in the island...made doing dishes sh*t and water went everywhere.

We have the sink in the island bench but we've tried to counter the splash issues with a super deep single sink rather than the shallow twins that usually come standard. Plus our island bench measures 1200mm x 3030mm which should hopefully leave enough room for the breakfast bar. The main reason for it being there is so the missus can watch TV while doing the dishes that don't go in the dishwasher.

Bang on franga

Im sick of facing the other directio while prepping and using the sink... it does have its draw backs but tbh the water splash on our normal sink doesnt reach the window which is the splashback for the sink... so I cant see it being a hug issue.

On trend now is to integrate the kitchen space as much as possible... hence the whole island and sink in the island

We chose not to have the sink in the island bench. So we could maxi-muse the space for prep. Bench is 3m long.

in a galley type kitchen the sink in the island is only option for functionality, you have to remember the triangle rule

pixy what shape is your kitchen?

Maxi-muse hey...seems legit, I guess...given we're talking kitchens...
