Guys,

Had a bit of drag today off the traffic lights with some "hot shot" that pulled up on my left with like 20 meters of road for him to either make it or break it...

Obviously I wasn't going to give up my pole position so I gave it a bit of a squeeze, but that dreaded axle tramp cut in again...

Even though I have taken the car to Ford numerous times for this issue they still can't solve it...

Just curious as to whether other FG XR6T sedan owners get the same axle tramp as myself...

They also still can't figure out why the left rear end is still knocking, and I can confirm that the left rear end is where I feel it tramping...(It's like something is loose on the left rear)...the Ford guys cannot figure this out, they even changed a shock but this had absolutely no effect on the symptoms...

Diff bushes obviously been done?

I think in the wet its normal....I've had my diff bushes done with nolathane..2 suspension places said they are still fine. But if you take off hard in the wet it will spin and bounce sometimes (which is axle tramp yeah?).

I too have a knock in front and rear...no one can figure it out but they say it has something to do with my swaybars (whiteline).

Until I get some money for someone else to look at it...ive just been trying to ignore as much as I can lol

Hope you find an answer...try independent suspension place WITH A GOOD REP. Ford are ok for general things, but they just take it to specialists when they have NFI lol

The only time I've had it is when I was launching at the drags with semi slicks and they were sort of half spinning half gripping which I think is what caused the tramping

With cheap sh*tty street tyres on it just spins smoothly.

My FG XR6T AND FG2 GT both did it with stock bushes when I launched them. Solid bushes eliminated the axle tramp in both cases...

Solid bushes and better shocks (bilsteins) eliminated tramp in dry or wet. Makes a big difference to rear end handling in all situations. Very worthwhile upgrade.

Guys,

Got another mechanic to go over my car, in relation to the rear end knocking, and he couldn't see anything obvious either.

This mechanic does do allot of mechanical work for taxis, so they have seen allot of suspension issues, and the only thing he could see that could possibly be causing that knock over bumps is the trailing arm bush.

Apparently when the rubber cracks or wears, it can cause a knocking noise...

What do you guys think?...

Ford had my car for a week and they still couldn't figure out the rear end passenger knock...it's one of the mysteries of the universe...

fark, I can't believe that both you and Peter are having this issue.

The other day in the dry I took off a bit hard and had a knock or two before she gripped and then just took off.

I don't like burnouts and avoid it as much, so it could be why I haven't noticed if I have the knock or not.

Is this happening in the dry and wet?

Can I make a suggestion though? Try and turn off traction control and see if it still does the same noise or not?

I haven't read anything but the last 2 posts so sorry if I'm miles off here.

I have a single knock in the first few inches of movement (either forward or reverse) on mine. She will also knock 'sometimes' when I get off it and the zf does its little jumpy thing coz - I'm guessing - the valve body doesn't release the pressure quick enough.

My problem is the outer cv on my right half shaft that was changed out to a repco unit about 5 or 6 months ago.

When it's on the hoist, I can't reproduce it coz Don not strong enough to hold shaft and roll wheel

I'll wait till it snaps and hit up warranty but the downside of that is my tuner won't put it back on the dyno till I fix it [emoji20]
