I'm a bit behind Gunna. So staying with the BTR but making it better?

the guy I bought the engine of ,sold the box to someone else .he did offer me one later that had 65,000 klm on it .but it was to late as the engine left before I could decide (Melbourne to Caloundra Qld ) so I did not want to pay for travel . I then was going to buy a mall wood tremec for over $7000 (no tail shaft ) . in the end I just thought it was easier to go with the BTR . I know , I really would have liked the manual . I just did not have the money for a manual conversion ,as I only wanted a near new one or re build box . I am starting to think that even my budget is not allowing me to get to 600 rwhp .but I will certainly try my best . have spoken to a guy that also has a BA turbo with 550 rwkw and runs mid 9 second passes at 140 miles plus with a Dominello build BTR . he has had the same box now for 6 years with no problems ,it has travelled 60,000 klm . Dominello was the only one that gave me a warranty on the box for 12 month unlimited runs at the drags ,now that is not bad . I know warranty's mean nothing ,and I would not hold him to it .

Who says warranty means nothing Gunna? There are plenty of reputable companies that will stand by their products - performance or otherwise.

I think the BTR option is a smart one for what you're doing. You probably could have gone down an easier path with the engine but hope you'll get there in the end. Personally, I would have bought a cheap donor and got it built or use your existing engine and done the same but that's my opinion.

thought by using the FG intake and turbo housing would save me some $ . the engine has only cost me delivered to my door $3550 , now that is cheap for only 6000 klm on the clock I thought . also I can use the power steering pump . also all the pulleys are like brand new so that will save me money . we will see how much in the end it will cost me ,I will keep a close eye on it . the BTR has cost me $4000 . going to order the brakes on Tuesday ,T3 front and back and new lines and pads . any one know a good place to buy them from ?

They are great, a huge improvement over the old discs I had on (no idea what they were though)

Gave them a pretty hard time on the alpine cruise a month ago, boiled my brake fluid but the discs are still in good shape, no warping at all

But I have heard you can still warp them if you are really aggressive on the brake pedal,

If your going to be doing power plays and some really high speed stops with them I would say the T3's would be better

But overall I have no complaints and T2's are a lot cheaper than T3's
