I thought about getting the ZF built for my F6X but now no fcking way!!! I'm pretty sure my transfer case will cry foul first!

Out of curiosity what sort of price are you looking at for a standard rebuild on a ZF...(just freshen up everything, without beefing it up)...

I have heard of quotes going as high as 5.5K...

^^ I think generally the bigger killer is the input shaft ($2k). In saying that I think by time you buy a new set of clutches, seals, solenoids, oil, filter then add labour, might aswell get it built. If not looking for huge power can get a cryoed shaft rather than billet a lot cheaper. Most places will offer different levels of box builds.

To answer your question I'd say at least $2.5-3k on a basic rebuild

Monsta torque 3800 to stock spec iirc.

Yeah that's the only thing about these cars...as good as the ZF is...your're always weary of the potential for it to cost you big bucks if it fails...at least with the old 4 speed (granted they are no ZF)..if it

did sh$t its self, it wouldn't cost you a bomb to rebuild it, even with stronger bits...

From what I have seen, if you could manage a rebuild for around the 3.5K mark, then that would be considered a good deal...

I know Fords get the milkshake, but I believe allot of the BMWs get the low pressure, slipping clutches, or sticky solenoid problems...

Anything you touch on these boxes is very expensive...
