Hi guys , ive been looking at buying a ba xr6 turbo ute. I had it put in for inspection. They found the owner or previous owner had drilled a hole thru the radiator over flow cap. Any idieas as to why some one would do that.

Cooling system issue (ie dud headgasket/Leaky Rad/etc etc etc) Hole in the cap will stop the system pressuring and can stop coolant leaking past the headgasket etc....but can also cause the car to overheat as it lowers the boiling point of the coolant

had my ute checked out by RACQ before I bought it ,they said its all sweet . after owning it for one day it turned out to be the biggest lemon . they missed the 5 mm movement in the upper ball joints etc .engine was just about rooted and the gearbox was slipping in top gear . and the diff was stuffed . after I done the conversion from v8 to turbo 6 ,I found that the dash got changed from 2004 to a 2006 model .that is why it only had 47,000 klm on the clock . I think it must have had more than 200.000 klm on the clock when I bought it .

to me that is just as bad as when someone has had there car highly modified and then returns there car back to standard ,just the same as winding back the speedometer on a car . it is just not right ,as the next owner is left with a big bill to repair the car

yes that is what I thought . the whole car was stuffed ,even all the springs bushes and shocks . after washing the car 5 times it turned white(red paint ) got the ute re painted . so the car has all new parts fitted to it to it now .cost a sh*t load of money and it is still only a ba xt one tonne ute .there are ass holes in this world that just do not do right thing ,and just could not give a sh*t what they have done to another person
