I'm in need of new rotors. I have the ba premium front brakes on my ba xr6 t . They have not warped at all just worn to the sh*tta Cause of the pads used. Under heavy braking I think the grooves help evacuate gases that are formed though, increasing friction. Do race cars ever use flat? I'm unsure.Also probably depends on tyre quality, if you can lock them up with crappy rotors you won't gain much from slotted.For me, I like to drive fast and brake late into that turn off of the 100 zone so DBA T3 slotted FTMFW. Not had any issues since. It does not always happen that way of course - I've heard of others who have tried all sorts to get rid of brake shudder without success. I use dba slotted rotors and Bendix heavy-duty pads. Rotors have lasted me as well - been goin since late 2010 so far. I've changed pads a few times though. It helped stop early brake fade when I went to Winton earlier this year. My rear discs were toast after that day so I changed them over to RDA slotted and dimpled for $125 for the pair.Long story short, if you are going to brake hard and repeatedly for an extended time, get slotted.
