I got it from fordpro wreckers , it was in perfect condition , and still is I released the centre bearing bracket just last week end and checked the rubber for any splits or fatigue and all looks good , the only thing I noticed is the bearing sits low in the rubber closer to the bottom edge of the bearing bracket , is that just the weight of the shaft and bearing doing that or does everybody else's tailshaft sit in the middle of the bracket while stationary ????

Should the sedans have a spacer between the floor and the centre bearing bracket a silly question but just asking because that might centre the shaft inside the bearing bracket and rubber and just wondered if it should have spacers but are missing for some reason

Typically the CB will look like it sits lover to the ground vs floor pan, but it can look "fine" even though its buggered

The thumping u talk of in the take off then goes then comes back thru the mid torque ( mid rpm band ) is a very common CB issue

Any sprints will have one and at approx $80

Utes have spacers between the bearing carrier and floor pan, sedans do not

Some are sealed some are changeable

If u have the spring clips holding the uni cups into the yoke you can change it with a press or good bench vice

If there is no spring clips then its the sealed unit and it needs to go to somewhere like hardie spicer so they can press the old stuff out and new stuff in

Take a pik of what u got and ill tell u how to do it
