Tiptronic seems like the go I recon. Yeh im guessing the stock box wont last at 450 anyway. It snapped the input shaft at the drags so its had a new one put in along with new 3rd and 4th clutch packs from memory.

kick down has been left deliberately so there is acceleration in an emergency situation if required, rather than being in a gear too high with little acceleration

Is there a way to stop the trans from kicking down a gear when the shifter is moved from auto to performance?

I keep forgetting that mine does this and I always end up in a gear less than I wanna be in coz old and can't count.....

Would be good if the ZF didn't kick back in manual mode, my old TJ Magna had tiptronic auto could floor it any gear didn't kick back I liked it.

Maybe you guys should suck it up and buy a manual.

If I'm driving the wife's car it stays in auto, faarrk changing gears that's what autos are for.

Anyway it feels GHEY changing gears manually in an auto!!!
