04/10/14 05:18 AM04/10/14 05:18 AM #61 I got the braided lines for all four corners.I got T3 for the fronts and left the rears stock.I got braided lines for all four corners too.So you got braided lines? I'm seriously considering brembos soon Even with t3s and braided lines I'm having some fade issues. And I don't really feel like spending more on the stock setup
04/10/14 05:24 AM04/10/14 05:24 AM #62 Yeah I got braided lines for the front and rear brakes. The car feels so much better than what it did stock.I did change the brake pads as well and I am sure that would be the reason why there is bite as well.I have heard people talking of fade and I am assuming this has to do with the brakes loosing their bie after a few hard braking sessions yeah? Could it be your brake pads?Matt sold me the Bremtec Endure 4wd & heavy duty ceramic technology pads.Sorry to OP for hijacking thread.
04/10/14 05:54 AM04/10/14 05:54 AM #63 Hey Rab,They are definitely slotted and dimpled RDA's. Seller informs me that some sort of bendix pad was used - I'd say maybe a CT or an ultimate? Either way, shouldn't account for the lack of wear...Stock rotors are terrible and even punishing them, you'd get more than 10k even with a hard pad... I just don't get it...It is only for street duties but like I said, I'm a big brake feel guy so I'm happy to shell out the difference for some nice T3's if I go down that road. Don't think I'll bother maching ing them and they are terrible - I'll see what the shop that installed them says on Monday.Cheers guys,DanFor $40 bucks just give the RDAs a skim and see how they go. Then if they are shti get some T3. I have RDA on 3 cars and they are fine. BUT they dont get beaten hard like the F6s.
04/10/14 06:48 PM04/10/14 06:48 PM #64 I had RDA,s on 2 XR6T falcons. The first car was fine but the other was crap. Constant machining never got rid of the problem.

05/10/14 07:27 PM05/10/14 07:27 PM #66 Just had T3's fitted this weekend, very early days (less than 50km) but no shudder, steering feel under braking is great. Bedding in process was fun but thirsty and smoky and smelly. Still a little more bedding in to do over time so I am absolutely happy atm.Out of interest the old rotors were very pitted on the outside, I didn't bother checking the inside of them. Pads looked brand new, very little wear on them. Previous owner said that Fords have brake issues and this one shudders etc. My guess is they only ever tried to skim the original rotors and changed pads but never tried different rotors.First time working on the G6E with tools, aside from the sub fix, and it was very easy to do. My slow pace probably made a 1 hour job 3 but otherwise very easy with the right tools.
06/10/14 12:37 AM06/10/14 12:37 AM #67 Do you mean $40 each rotor? Where can you get rotors skimmed for $10 each????That price would be per rotor and most likely would involve you having to pull them off and refit them.Bedding in process was fun but thirsty and smoky and smelly.Did you clean the oil coating of the new rotors with break cleaned before fitting them? They should not smoke.
06/10/14 01:33 AM06/10/14 01:33 AM #68 Obviously I didn't clean them enough, but then again I might have got carried away with the bedding in stop start thing. Maybe I was starting to hard
06/10/14 01:46 AM06/10/14 01:46 AM #69 I usually get them smoking when I do the 5-100-5km/h - repeat bedding in
08/10/14 09:37 AM08/10/14 09:37 AM #70 Author I called automasters the other day and they have agreed to look at the brakes under warranty for me.I've really been thinking about it and I really can only see 3 outcomes...1) They machine them2) They replace them3) They reject the warranty claimSeriously considering the T3, bremtech endure, silicone fluid upgrade to save myself the headache of taking it in an hour away plus sitting around for another couple of hours for no real desirable resolution... Shoulda just listened to you guys all along Oil line rocked up today and looks killer in all stealth black! Booked the car in for trans service, cooler install and oil line install. Next is the 60k service, replace busted temperature sensor, TB elbow and oem piping upgrade and brakes. Then she's done - Done, I say!!!Oh and here's a few pic's Cheers,Dan
