Depending on what you want to do with it in the future and when one pops up for the right price it'd go either way for me.

Suspension and brakes are common for people to change over regardless (if I was doing my time again those would be the 1st 2 things I did the day after I picked the car up)

There's also a chance that whatever car you find (unless buying new) could already have been upgraded by the previous owner.

That makes the handling of the XR6 a non issue and just leaves the diff as the only real mechanical difference.

Also worth noting and keeping in mind the different trim levels of the XR6's. Some are optioned up or special editions pretty much to same standard as the G6E's, while others are pretty basic, as well as the refinement the MKII's bought on both models.

^^^ An xr50 is the best of both imo. Its just about a g6e with a manual option and lsd. Throw the indicator mirrors on and its virtually the same options.
