I see that the SCT XCAL 4 is now on the market....

I emailed two popular Ford tuning shops in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne about sourcing one of these without a reply which I thought was a little strange.

Does anyone know who the distributor are of these for Australia? Is it Herrod?? I will just go to them direct.

  • They spend 99.99999% of their time in the glovebox or boot. Both still need to be pulled out and plugged into the ODB2 to change the tune and neither are of a type that you would keep them plugged in

  • Herrod did advertise them as a rrp of $620 on their FB page. Also this morning they uploaded a video to their Facebook page of APS and them tuning a car with it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SdaAq_S

  • Caveat emptor ( tuners included) the question that no one has asked, which models is the unit compatible with, BF/BA's for an example. This is basic as you have your paws on one.? or an opportunity to

Herrod would be the ones to ask... But I have a feeling they're not out here yet

BenDoCo is correct

we have one as a demo unit but can not load tunes in it at present due to some limitations because they are not 100% correct at present.

Rob did post a week and a half ago that they were released but as he posted they found an issue which they are working on to rectify

Besides the size, whats the advantage?

Jules consider changing your tag sh*t sticks :bliss:

I really don't see any advantages Jules.

Smaller

Color Screen

WiFi

Don't know anything about the firmware but am fairly sure that it won't give me any more killa wasps

there will be no benefits to the cars power as the flash box is just a way to communicate with the car and has no affect on power at all. as mentioned it is smaller but that's all I can tell yo at the moment as we are waiting on updates to access what it can do, Wifi looks like it may just be for updating the unit and not any programming of the car.

Can configure some gauges on the screen though
