December 2, 201312 yr #1 Just to let everyone out there know. The manufacturer that made the lock nut keys with the stamped numbers in the top like 3B59 and have gone out of business.I found this out today as mine rounded out on the inside, rendering it useless.Only to be told by ford that I cannot get one. So I now have four wheels I cannot get off the car.If anyone in Sydney has this key number 3B59, could I please use your key. I am willing to drive where ever you are. There are only 24 different keys.
December 2, 201312 yr #2 You can get it off still. There is actual tools specifically made to do what you need. Most serious tyre place should be able to get it off still.
December 2, 201312 yr #3 Happened to me ages ago lost the key in my commy just used socket and a hammer worked great!
December 2, 201312 yr #5 Yeah good heads up. Also have heard of bashing a socket over it works Just got some Phoon rims with lock nuts...do not like the look or feel of the "key" at all. Plus I left it on the wheel once already and was lucky to have it fall off in the pea gravel driveway AND spot it while coming back from a walk, which was a rare event on its own!
December 3, 201312 yr #7 Cheaper to buy a new set of locknuts then the key itself, only $5 difference. It is hard when you can't get them off though lol. My key also rounded, I bought one off eBay, just told them The code and they sent it out
December 3, 201312 yr #8 22mm 12 point socket. I will have all 4 off in 1 min and your wheels on my car in 10. locking wheel nuts are only for honest people.
December 3, 201312 yr #9 Lock nuts are like locking your front door. If someone wants to break in, they will. It only slows them down temporarily.
December 3, 201312 yr #10 Ppl use lock nuts then leave the key in the car . Nek minit. Car broken into as well. Lock nuts suck. And can't get as tight as the other nuts. Pita
