Ford Warranty.....do's And Dont's

when I was at Ford, the majority of modded warranty claims came down to cutomer attitude.

if you carry on like a tool, expecting this and that to get replaced, and dont have a good service record with the dealership, dont expect your modded claim to get approved.

if you have your car regulary serviced there, the car is presented well, the owner has the correct attitude, and approach the claim with a level, sensible head, you'd be suprised how far that gets you.

I was looking into an intake for my FG F6 a while back and you'd be amazed at how many good quality kits are out there.

Process west, Nizpro, Plazmaman, KTM, Herrod, Bluepower etc. And they are all fairly evenly priced.

If I was in your position, I'd be looking into what else is out there before you decide on an SS kit - You may find one that you like more

Yep be friends with your dealer... I ring David Nutter here in Berwick and pretty much they book me in ASAP... 7500km oil change I do my self then 15000 they do for me... Don't go in screaming like some Dicks do..speak to them like a human as it helps.

Well considering my job, I'm anything but a dick...but I have to deal with a fair few on a very regular basis...I'll have a chat with the blokes and see what I can work out.

I just brought a 2013 fg xr6t and it has the new car warranty was just wondering if anyone knows if ya BOV will void the warranty or any part of the warranty? and does it loose much power by adding one? iv heard from some people you can loose a noticeable amount of power and others have told me you will loose stuff all? what do you guys think?

I had a chat to my service bloke today.....he gave me a definite 'No' to flashing the ECU.....he told me that filters and air box wouldn't be a problem. So I figure if you just ask them they'll give you an answer.

Following on from above , Years ago , everyone and anyone, was playing with the set up of their cars, most via a group of friends .. Today , it appears most mod's are much more professional and require the skills and knowledge of didicated tuning houses (real $ are involved).. Apart of the question of when to and warranty and resale issues , I was interested to learn from others , whether, there is also , possible a unwritten , unspoken thought that says you shouldn't mod a ? car .. Interesting , its clear that , many have either mod or have clearly for many reason choosen not to , but I haven't got any sense as whether we shouldnt mod a ?.

That is ..........years ago , any car was fair game , we played with Mazda RX 2 with 12B motors right through to Monaros , Torana's, and GT's and so many others .. There were auto houses retailing their wares all over the states ... Then , a change came about , cheaper imports , cost of fuel , faster rice burns direct out Japan with no mod's required , etc . Mod' stopped(decreased) , and the value of original kept cars increased .. With FPV withdrawal and expected withdrawal of HSV anytime soon - is their any merit is keeping the GT's and F6 models original , hoping/wishing that in time , at time of sale, they would demand more - rather than less if they had been mod?.Will a original FPV - attract a larger pool of interested buyers ? . Maybe either way - it doesnt matter ? Look forward to your thoughts .

If you cant or dont want to pay for some warranty items yourself, dont mod. I modded while in warranty, driving a stock car sucks. Its like having a hot girlfriend and you cant give her one.

That said dont take your car in with an inch of rubber hanging off the mudflaps.

I've had a very good warranty experience at nuford in wangara (WA), they even replaced my power steering pump again and gave me a new ICC when the car was out of warranty, under good will. This was when the car was lowered and modified.
