How Do I Get The Front Shocks Out?

I'm trying to lower my fg xr6, how do I get the shocks out, I have undone the top 3 bolts and the bolt on the bottom of the shock but I can get the bolt out, how do I take pressure off it to get the bolt out? What other bolts are there to undo?

Keep undoing things till they fall out.

shouldn't you be using a spring commpressor?

Yer I will use a spring compressor once I get the shock out when I pull it apart because I can't get the compresser on when the shock is on the car

Oh you mean front struts. 3 bolts at top, can't recall exactly what bolts at the bottom, but they are a pain to get out the first time.

Push down on the hub...or take it to a mechanic...

Undo the sway bar will help

As P@ said, its just a bit of fiddling, theres a bit of movement in the hub so move it around a bit and should come good

U need to undo the upper control arm 14mm nut and bolt that hold on the tie rod looking knuckle

And move the up right out towards u as u push down on all the lower arms and brake assembly ( two ppl help lots ) and then with a fair amount of down force on all the lower gear and the upper control arm pushed up the strut can come out
