6 months old and 23,000km later, no problems/noises so far here.

Ok, they've flushed the oil and put new stuff in.

Put it all back together and seemingly running fine. Noise is gone, oil pressure is back, timing is spot on.

That's the good news...

The bad...

They shut it off and restarted... Lost compression on all cylinders... WTF

I just want them to get the damn thing running well enough to get me and all my gear back to Townsville. Then I'll take it to my dealer up there and demand a new engine.

For interests sake, the engine has 25000 kays on it. 5000 of those tallied in the last 3 weeks. Has never missed a beat.

ExAreSix - my deepest sympathy for your problems, I know what it's like to have a car you can't drive and problems that the 'experts' cannot fix.

I mentioned a slightly rough idle to the dealer Exaresix and they replaced my phasers without a question the next day. This was at the end of last year with a little over 5500 on the clock and after a trip to cairns on the weekend I note that it was getting back to its old tricks at idle. I dunno if I am being paranoid but I shall keep an eye on it. Best of luck in your trip home!

Hi Guys

My idle has never been 100% smooth. If I listen to the exhaust there is a bit of a miss and pop now and then. I think this might be normal.

From inside the car the idle is ok but not 100% smooth.

Have you guys notice that same thing?

Yeah mate, they replaced my phasers without question also.

But alas, it wasn't just a phaser issue. :(

So, I'm flying home on Thursday, leaving my 'beloved' ute in Sydney. Unlessa a miracle befalls Winford's workshop and they get it fixed by tomorrow afternoon.

I just got of the phone to Ford Customer Relations, and they put a call through to Winford to give them a hurry on, and assist in delivering parts ASAP... So who knows, the miracle might be on it's way...?
