March 20, 200719 yr #251 ive got 3 RCA inputs for the ICC..reverse camera80Gb IpodvidDVD player3 low level outputs for amps too!give fadi a call from AFF.. I think its aussie logistics.. they make the dashes for ford I think.. came back with more warranty stickers than when I sent it.. not that cheap but having proper inputs and outputs almost makes up for the standard deck and screen
March 20, 200719 yr #252 awsum, can you put up a pic of the plugs etc and hows the ipod video hooked up?Is it thru the yellow video rca? What does the setup consist of?cheers mate, thanx for any help.
March 21, 200719 yr #253 all the ins are RCA(yellow, red, white) and outs are just low level red and white audio..then I have the lead from the ear phone jack on ipod that has RCA(as above) output plugged straight in.. they also provided me with an inline filter/booster for crisper sound from the inputs they are on the aussie ford forums so check it out!
April 3, 200719 yr #254 You definitely want to be using the "Line Out" from any iPod, *not* the headphone output. The headphone output is being amplified by a very small, average quality headphone amp and you'll suffer really badly if you then connect this into a line-level input (home amp or car amp) and re-amplify it again.Definitely, definitely use the line out, which is only accessible via the dock connector on the bottom of the iPod. If you use an iPod dock, that will give you a 3.5mm jack, or I use a PocketDock adapter, which gives u a standard firewire port and a 3.5mm line-out in a plug that's the size of half your thumb length. The iPod's Burr-Brown DAC has it's analog output spat directly out the line-out on the dock connector, bypassing all other analog circuitry, and the signal to noise ratio+total harmonic distortion is the best in the hard-drive based music player market and will also rival most home CD player signals. The headphone output? sh*te. But it's only for sh*tey headphones remember
April 3, 200719 yr #255 What is the volume like if you use the dock - to ICC connector? Is the volume even lower than through the headphone socket?
July 15, 200719 yr #256 A comment from a friend:The problem is that it would appear to not be compatible with my Nokia car kit. The car kit was using the blue power plug already but when I moved it to the piggy back plug on the amplifier with everything connected then the stereo unit just displays 'media' (which is what the carkit uses) and you can't turn it off or do anything with it either. Even the Cell phone doesn't work. Taking the keys out of the ignition does nothing, you can't turn it off. Take the CarKit out of the piggy back power supply plug and all returns to normal again.Anyone have both working - anything that can be done to make both work?
July 15, 200719 yr #257 I would say that they have the radio mute put to ground permemantly. I have fitted several carkits (including Nokia CK1W) to the Ford and it is no problem with the carkit only the wiring. The AUX plug has:Perm PowerAcc PowerEarthRadio MuteIf the Media is on permemantly on the ICC then the mute wire is not connected right. Check the wiring.
July 15, 200719 yr #258 Thanks mate. The problem isnt there if Sound box alone is plugged in, and not there if phone kit alone is plugged in, only both together. Is there a possibility that the 'piggy back' plug is incorrect?
July 15, 200719 yr #259 It would be the radio mute is being earthed by something. I would say the plug is wrong.
July 15, 200719 yr #260 The plug for the phone unit or the piggy back one?If the piggy - can you give me the correct wire colours for each position on the plug - and I will ask him to check?Cheers
