Hi Guys

Recently had stock rotors machined after 35000klm but shudder is back after only 7000klm so ordered a set of DBA4000 slotted. My question is torque settings for the caliper bolts, can anyone advise on correct torque?

Also have EBC "Red Stuff" pads installed which have been great so far (3000klm).

Also for anyone looking at doing the same the DBA web site offers great videos, 4 in total, on fitting new rotors.

Just ring up Steve at dba rotors - he should be able to help you or someone from the tech support group :nod:

Good choice as I use dba 4000 slotted rotors on my T and they have been great so far - had them for just over 2 years :thumbsup:

I use mine with Bendix Heavy Duty pads - don't dust up or squeal. I've got EBC on another vehicle and they dust up a bit :beerchug:

Hi Guys,

I have a set of DBA T3 rotors and hope to fit them soon.

I've fitted new rotors and pads to heaps of Holdens. Any traps for first timers when doing the same to an FG XR6T??

Any special tools needed? Anything else I need to know?

Easy as.....in fact, I reckon it was easier to do the rotors and calipers on the fg than my old ve commy.

Normal rules

Make sure everything is clean and take your time

Take the handbrake before attempting to remove rear rotors lol...I actually back the shoes off a bit they can still catch even with it off. Fronts are easy as, may require some flogging.

Having a big rubber mallet handy is a must also. I also like to use a large socket and one wheel nut to hold the rotor on whilst putting the pads/caliper back on.

Thread mining a lot hey PAH.

I do not believe that there is any catch, however if you have some sort of goo on the back of the pads that act like glue, you might find yourself in the same situation as me when changing pads.

It won't affect you when doing the rotors, if you remove the whole calliper and support bracket off.

If you undo the two bolts at the back of the calliper(which leaves the support bracket in place) and try to slide it off to gain access to the pads, it might be difficult.

The reason is that when getting part of the calliper off, due to the goo sticking the pads to the calliper, you might have difficulty as it feels like it is stuck. Using a spanner to slide the calliper out is what I did.

However if you take off the two bolts holding the support bracket in place, you will have no issues.

Hopefully you understand what I am trying to say.

As mentioned above, make sure everything is cleaned out.

Been looking at dba's lately and was wondering if they'd fit into a stock 4-pot FPV Brembo front setup. Are they 4000s or 5000s that'd be the go or am I showing how really ignorant I am on all this?

? Of course they will fit....if you have the right part number?

Depends on how hardcore you will use the car? 4000s I.e. T3 ...is good for most people.

I think the 5000 series are a two piece rotor and for people who really like to belt the crap out of their car. Expensive as f*ck I think too

So the 4000's will probably work best; I expect they're as good as the Brembo ones they're replacing?

Then it's just a matter of finding out the correct part number.
