If 500rwhp is your aim and a strong mid range tune is used then you'll struggle to find any tyre that will hold regardless of the width unless you use a Mickey Thompson on a preped track. A semi slick tyre can be used but they come in limited sizes, wear quickly and can suffer from heat cycling and going hard on a daily driven car. My suggestion would be to select the wheel that you'd like to have and then find a quality tyre with the lowest tread wear rating to suit. You'll find the best way to maintain traction in a rear wheen drive car with that much grunt is to simply modulate throttle.Benny. I'm more fussed about the tyres. As for wearing quickly, how fast are we talking? I'm not fussed if I have to replace them every 6 months, I just want traction. Whats the point of having all the masses amounts of ponies galloping at your back tyres if you are just gonna spin on the spot haha. Is there any preventative to them going hard? Or what is the cause of that happening? I went from 19s back to 18x 9.5 to get a wider tyre ans more sidewall im running 285s 595 rsr's and still turn them in second rolling on from 60 and that's with 350rwkw. So ill be going something different again this time... They are good, and from what I know reasonably durable, but haven't got the traction level im after.
