At the drags yesterday my f6 started missing on cyl number 2, blowing the dipstick out and blowing oil out the rocket cover gasket! I'm thinking a blown head gasket. If it is what do u guys think of getting an atomic gasket and head studs? Is this the usual upgrade? It's running 408rwkw on 21psi 98 fuel so I want to try improve the head seal a bit while I'm their!

It may all look good even if you take the head off. You cant see a broken ring land. Doing a compression or/and leak down test helps narrow down the piston. Sometimes if its not evident on head pull off you can see scratches in the bore on the offending piston. Othertimes its blaring obvious.

So you are better off taking the whole engine out rather than taking the head off to find what is pretty certain an engine out job.

Do a compression test before wasting time taking the head off whilst engine in the car.

Yeah I tryed to do a compression test but my tester was nOt long enough to reach down the hole so I'll have to make up a longer hose for it! I think I'll just do pistons and rods anyway as I wanted more power!!
