Not sure about Sydney or other states. But there are signs for it on the Mornington Peninsula and the sign is a picture of a chopper.

Also saw a chopper hovering with a patrol car hiding when the Dandenong bypass first opened. So only saw it once.

never seen it before and agree I wonder what the return would be for the government keeping a plane in the air and writing a couple of $200 speeding tickets.

Ive seen it used once, that was when a OMCG was riding from Syd to Melb, they were monitoring from above.

The amount of money the fixed & mobile speed cameras bring in up here it would certainly be enough to justify a cessna or two. They'd make an absolute killing.

Surprised it hasn't happened yet to be honest.

Ok well I made it from Perth to eucla (sitting in motel bar atm).. No signage of aerial speed checks yet! There were 3 landing strips though .. Next leg it to port Augusta tomorrow
