OK Guys, the complete works at Mt Panorama will not be completed until 2015. Along with resurfacing the track, they are also installing a wheelchair freindly crossing over the pit straight which includes lifts for people and a 2.5m safety fence along pit straight. They are also improving some of the safety barriers, extending a couple of the sand traps and adding some garden things along the track to make it look prettier.

Resurfacing will only commence once other activities that alter the road (such as the new safety fence and modifying sand traps and concrete barriers) are completed as it would only ruin the new surface. Apparently the final resurfacing will take place in early 2015. They may also be resurfacing this year but it wouldn't be a proper job I don't think if they will be tearing up sections over the next 2 years anyway...

That 2015 timeline is according to the Federal Governments regional funding project.
