I'm tying to justify it's purchase...Anyone know where that sells it besides getdipped and the old couple in Bardwell Park (plastidip.net.au)?Cheers Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/79687-the-plastidip-thread/page/34/#findComment-1362119 Share on other sites

The gloss makes the colour a fair bit lighter and also emphasises that rough kind of texture that you get from plastidip. All up to do my 4 wheels as you can see I used one and a half cans of purple and half a can of gloss. If you were too do the full wheels I would use 2 full cans of colour and one full can of gloss. Having done my wheels before I knew how much would be enough.I got mine more than once through caswell plating in victoria. Here's their ebay link http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/181064260531?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_1462wt_905I ordered the 4 purple plus 2 glossifier and with that I did mine and my mrs wheels and had a good can or 2 left over. Joncitizen for $25 I would get one can of glossifier. Do your base colour first then see how you like it and if your not a fan add a coat of gloss at a time. I went for a more satin finish not that real glossy look Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/79687-the-plastidip-thread/page/34/#findComment-1362177 Share on other sites

Bellato Donating Members 2,713 Member For: 14y 7m Posted 13/02/13 10:46 PM Share Posted 13/02/13 10:46 PM I dunno how good it would be for tool handles. Id imagine the friction of your hand would peel it up after a while. Cameron02 Member 164 Member For: 12y 5m 10d Posted 14/02/13 06:48 AM Share Posted 14/02/13 06:48 AM I think this stuff was originally designed for tool handles. If you want it for tool handles see if you can get the undiluted stuff. You basically get a tin of it and dip the tool habdle in, then lift it out and you have a coated handle (hence plasti dip). The stuff most of us have is the spray cans which I believe already contains thinners for painting.
