Weird Dynos! Or True Power?

Featured Replies

Recently I had my car tuned at a reputable tuner in Sydney my car consist of.

2005 ba

Atomic valve springs,

walbro pump,

x-force s/steel dump + cat,

removed middle muffler,

avo cooler,

rapid intake,

60lbs injectors

Now the car is running 15psi consistently no spiking or anything.

Final power when tuned was 306rwkw I paid $770 for the tune! & $770 to install the springs!

I now take it for a check up at another shop and get told its pulling 259rwkw with alright afrs and low timing!!!! WTF

Bid difference from initial dyno!

Now I don't want to start a sh*t fight I know dynos are a tunning tool and quarter mile is where the numbers come out but really such a difference. Both dynos were dyno dynamics!

I feel a bit ripped off! Also 15psi with those mods & only 259rwkw

Please please anyone voice your opinion :)

  • Doesn't sound weird at all. Stock mine went 279rwkw in Mackay. Then went 266rwkw in Sydney. Some dynos read low, some high and others ridiculous. A mate has a built ba, supposedly only 320rwkw. Mi

  • How hot was it on the day? I lost 30rwkw on the same dyno due to heat. Going by your prices and sig it looks like Spiro (Autotech) has tuned your car. If so then his dyno reads low if you compare the

  • 15psi is alright. All depends on timing. Looks like you've lost the power due to the timing from what you've said in your posts. Take it back to the original tuner and get them to dyno it and log ever

259@15psi doesn't sound right.

Did they check for leaks etc as well?

Nah! If anything it feels like it has more power then before! Car runs great.

What could leak causing loss I power but still drive fine?

Post up the dyno sheets. Edit out the workshop names if you want to avoid the sh*t fight..

Something is not right. All been equal you wouldn't expect that big of a difference, maybe 10-15kw but

over 40?

Surely you'd feel the difference between 300+ and 260? If in fact there has been a loss!

Will do!

I will scan the dyno sheets and upload this arvo!

First dyno with 306rwkw only has the power and trouqe curve!

Second dyno has power vs boost!

Car feels the same but don't know how there is such a huge difference in power between the two dynos!

All I could think was $4000 spent for 259rwkw & 15psi :(

Another option is go back to original workshop, show them the latest results. A good workshop would surely want to investigate and check their tune for themselves.

Only problem is that I'm 6 hours away!

Hahahaha nah nsw, might just have to wait till I quarter mile it! I get 0-100 in 5.3sec and hit roughly 175klm in 400m!
