If it was the timing chain wouldnt it do it cold as well as warm, cold the engine is super quiet only thing you can hear is the injectors

As I stated in the other forum, drop the belt off, and see if the noise goes away. That will eliminate the idler, and water pump.

Nah im not touching it,knowing my luck with this car recently it wont go back on and I will have to tow it to my tuner.Anyway tuners back monday so he can sort it out.

It's easy to get off. All you need is a 3/8" strong arm bar from your socket set to release the tension on the tensioner (no actual bolts to undo). I spent a while trying to put a new belt on once because I took no notice of how it came off and they are a long belt with lots of possible ways to go on.

Idler pulley and a belt while your in there would be a good start, although I think the pulley is more of a squeak from memory. Do a search, its been covered in here already.
