I disagree, doesnt look like a typical torsional overload failure to me, looks like the shaft had a surface defect resulting in fatigue.

The face of the break of both halves of the shafts if possible. This was a common fault with the b series and seems to be with the fg's as well. A fair few guys on this forums are involved in metallurgy and/or failure analysis and pics like that could explain a lot --- plus it's like porn
